1 Picture Challenges Picture challenges are an easy way to promote a culture change toward wellness among your group. They are relatively simple to organize and require little staff time to promote. Picture challenges are not associated with prizes or incentives for participating (although they could be). They provide an opportunity for participants to share resources and successes, and to motivate or to become motivated by others. Picture challenges are a way to promote positive culture around wellness in your building. After all a picture is worth 1,000 words! How To Part 1-1. Review the March Picture Challenge communication example from LCGHD.PAGE 1 2. Use the attached sample promo template to establish the theme, time frame, and rules for your picture challenge PAGE 2-3 o (Set the picture submissions due date near the end of the challenge. Leave time for the lead to organize all entries and create the end picture collage/bulletin.) 3. Use the communication example and template to create an that can go out to all staff who will be encouraged to participate PAGE For additional promotion, create flyers or print challenge explanation/rules, and post throughout your building. o TIP- LCGHD printed and laminated the picture challenge rules and posted them on the inside of the employees only restroom stall doors! Part 2-1. Send 3 brief reminder s, or as many as you see fit throughout the duration of the picture challenge to encourage submissions. 2. Gather picture submissions from Twitter, Facebook, and . Choose pictures to include in the employee wellness picture collage/bulletin. o TIP- If participants wish to submit pictures through social media, they will need to post pictures from their personal accounts. For the picture to be submitted, they must tag the picture they post with a mention of the employer s account on Twitter, or tag the picture with the employer s account on Twitter. (i.e. Tagging the Lorain County General Health District facebook page on your posted photo, or posting a twitter pic in the caption) Part 3-1. Share the submissions! PAGE 4 o A) compile submitted photos into digital photo collage. Send to all-staff in a Motivation Monday message. o B) have the photos printed and post in a collage around the building or on bulletin boards o C) Post digital photo collages to share with your network on social media
