To counter these threats, intelligence organizations require access to information on open networks to understand patterns of life and human geography. National security analysts today are deluged with information but have a limited number of analysts and information technology resources to rapidly synthesize the information for their own needs or those of other agencies. Too often, the time spent manipulating data far exceeds the time spent analyzing it. Complex events can be defined, with triggering criteria across multiple data streams; alerts can be generated; and the data may be propagated to structured data stores for further analysis. 4 Information Integration Data from streaming open sources and from multiple enterprise systems can be ingested and combined for analysis in multiple modes as needed: Real-time event streaming: Data feeds from open sources can be monitored for key words, combinations of events across multiple feeds, and if-then events. Federation: Data is accessed when needed in real time from multiple systems without physical bulk movement of data. Integration: Data is captured from multiple systems periodically, as scheduled, and is kept in an inmemory database for text analysis and high-performance slicing and dicing, as driven by the mission. Replication: Data is instantly replicated in sync with other enterprise systems. Smart Mobility Using SAP mobility solutions, analytics can be securely accessed from any device, anywhere, any time.
