Please complete the task at home, make a PDF and upload the document to your application form. The purposes of the task is to form part of the selection process, and to give you as an applicant an idea of the nature of some aspects of the CELTA course. You may need to refer to grammar or usage books; some suggestions are: Parrott: Grammar For English Language Teachers (Cambridge) Murphy: English Grammar In Use (Cambridge) Swan: Practical English Usage; How English Works (OUP) Eastwood: Oxford Guide to English Grammar (OUP) Alternatively, the following websites (among others) may also be of use: May 2016

2 Pre-interview Task : Language Awareness & Analysis Please write or type your answers in the spaces provided. If you use a reference book/website to help you answer any part of the task, please state the author and title. 1 Verb forms Write a short example sentence for each of the following verb forms.
