2 Want a tasty treat for Easter Sunday morning and a reminder that the tomb is empty? Ingredients: 1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls 8 large marshmallows ¼ cup melted butter 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons white sugar Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 400 F. Lightly grease a baking sheet. 2. Separate crescent rolls into individual triangles. 3. In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon and sugar. 4. Dip a marshmallow into melted butter, then roll in sugar mixture. Place marshmallow into the center of a dough triangle. Carefully wrap the dough around the marshmallow. Pinch the seams together tightly to seal in marshmallow as it melts. Place on a baking sheet. Repeat. 5. Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. 6. Enjoy! Fun tip: Replace the marshmallow with a Peep and just add cinnamon for a colorful surprise! Easter is a religious holiday in which Christ followers celebrate Christ conquering death and rising from the dead. The egg has long been a symbol for new life and remind Christians of The largest Easter egg ever made was 25 feet high and weighed 8,000 pounds. It was built out of chocolate and marshmallow and supported with an internal steel frame. the new life they have when they believe that Jesus died for their sins and rose again. The Easter egg is a great way to tell others about how Jesus was buried in the tomb and is no longer there. 3 Cut up long strips of paper as if you were going to make a paper chain. Write down the passages below and hide the pieces of paper around the house. Have the kids find all the strips of paper and put them together to form a paper chain. 4 ***To be made the evening before Easter. So far the ingredients are not very appetizing. Add 1-c. sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because He loves us. He wants us to know and belong to Him. 1 c. whole pecans 1 tsp. Vinegar 3 egg whites Pinch salt 1 c. sugar Zipper baggy Wooden spoon Tape Bible Beat with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed. Explain that the color white represents the purity in God's eyes of those whose sins have been cleansed by Jesus. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F Place pecans in zipper baggy and let children beat them with the wooden spoon to break into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was arrested the Roman soldiers beat him. Fold in broken nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto wax paper covered cookie sheet. Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus' body was laid. Let each child smell the vinegar. Put 1-tsp. vinegar into mixing bowl. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross he was given vinegar to drink. Put the cookie sheet in the oven, close the door and turn the oven OFF. Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door. Explain that Jesus' tomb was sealed. Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus gave His life to give us life. Sprinkle a little salt into each child's hand. Let them taste it and brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus' followers,and the bitterness of our own sin. GO TO BED! Explain that they may feel sad to l leave the cookies in the oven overnight. Jesus' followers were in despair when the tomb was sealed. On Easter morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow! On the first Easter Jesus' followers were amazed to find the tomb open and empty. HE HAS RISEN!

5 Resurrection Eggs Purchase 12 small plastic Easter eggs. Make sure they will fit inside of a regular egg carton and number them 1 through 12. Using the leftover egg carton, write the Bible verse listed below on a small piece of paper, then fold it and include it in the corresponding egg. Make a list of the items needed and send the kids on a scavenger hunt around the house to find the items. Egg Number 1 Message: Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. The people waved palm branches. Passage: Matthew 21:1-11. Item: a blade of grass. Egg Number 2 Message: Mary poured perfume on Jesus' feet. Passage: John 12:2-8. Item: Cotton ball with perfume on it. Egg Number 3 Message: Jesus ate the Last Supper with His disciples. Passage: Matthew 26: Item: A cracker to represent the Passover bread. Egg Number 4 Message: Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Passage: Matthew 27:3. Item: Three dimes Egg Number 5 Message: Jesus carried His cross. Passage: John 19:17. Item: A twig in the form of a cross. Egg Number 6 Message: A crown of thorns on Jesus' head. Passage: John 19:2. Item: A small thorny branch (a toothpick would work) Egg Number 7 Message: Soldiers cast lots for Jesus coat. Passage: John 19:23.
