12 Our Strategy: we are trying hard to Promote cooperation with world-class universities Make each school have their own partners in international cooperation Increase the faculty number with overseas degrees Implement internationalization evaluation on schools Dispatching SJTU s students to the PUL university for academic visiting Promoting international research collaborations with the PUL university Receiving students from the PUL Univ. for degrees seeking and internship

13 From 2007 till 2011, totally 594 students have been awarded this scholarship for either doctoral research or PhD degrees pursuing through a rigid academia evaluation process The ratios are as follows: USA42%, FR18%, UK7%, DE7%, JPN7%, AUS6%, Others13%

15 Proposals for Collaboration between PUL Universities 1 Establish the collaboration program for undergraduate and graduate education Dual degree programs for undergraduate ( 2+2) and PhD (2+2) Short-term internship program for student exchange Summer school 2 SJTU will financially support students to study in PUL University by China Scholarship Council ( PhD Program), 150+/yr SJTU Overseas Foundation for graduate studies, 100+/yr Overseas graduate students in SJTU 3 Expand the international cooperation in scientific researches between their supervisors Various ways organize symposium, encourage visit international collaborative research projects through Chinese Government funding (MOST, NSFC and etc.)
