Poems On IF THERE WAS NO GRAVITY BY CLASS 5 A Bathing would be an arduous job, The water would be here and there, As you open the shower knob. The Mahabharata couldn't have been fought, As the arrows would be here and there, Horses and Emperors would be flying in the air. By floating, we could reach the 100th floor of a tower, There would be no need, To climb stairs or use a lift's electric power. The games of soccer and cricket could not be played, Once we hit the ball, It would move to outer space. Rajveer Kochar

If there was no Gravity on Earth? Life for us would be a curse. We would all be floating, Flutter about swollen and bloating. Food would not be on our plates, It would fly out of our gates. The world would crumble as asteroids would hit, Nothing would be left after it. Because Gravity is a force that keeps things in place, If it never existed it woluld be empty space. There wouldn't be any life or matter at all, Our planet would be a rock at free fall!!! The name ' Newton ' would be dead, Kabeer Thockchom

If there was no friction, I can't begin to imagine the commotion, We'll keep on slipping on the floor, With one push, we'll break the door! Fire would not be there, Without pushing, everything will fall, It won't be fun at all! We'll wonder 'Where's Fiction, O where?' There would be no practicality, We'll be floating in the air, Not being able to move anywhere! We'll not be able to eat, Or perform any such feat, Our feet will never touch the ground, We'll just spin round and around! Niharika Rao

If there was no gravity Everything would be a mess Isaac Newton wouldn't be famous His discovery would be a fail On the high seas nothing would set sail There would be no buildings on land Only trees and sand We would fly very high In the dark blue sky Farmers wouldn't be able to water there grain As there would be no rain The water cycle wouldn't remain We wouldn't be able to play a sport As the ball would always fly and float Actually without gravity nothing would take birth As there would be no Earth MAHIN BHARADWAJ

I wake up in the morning strapped to my bed If not, I d have several bumps on my head, From hitting the ceiling again and again! A day without gravity is about to begin! I float downstairs for breakfast into the dining room I look around and see my honeyloops floating in the gloom With one giant leap I manage to grab them, At the other end of the room I spot my spoon!! I grab my school bag and hop to school, And leap over the school gates (as that s the rule!) P.E. consists of looping the clouds, During Maths class we count the birds nice and loud! It s the end of another chaotic day, Oops! My school bag has floated away! Yashoda Jayal

A shocking nightmare I had last night, A frictionless world that gave me a fright. Things just slipped and glided over the ground, And crashed and smashed, it was chaos all around. No man could walk a step without a fall, And a breaking car just wouldn t stall. On the other hand, the water of the seas, Swept the shore with a touch of breeze. I rubbed my hands in the chill of the night, But I got no warmth nor I could hold them tight. I searched for a matchbox to start a fire, But not a spark-and my fear made me perspire. Though dark, big clouds came swirling by, But no thunder nor lightning filled up the sky. The whole situation just made me scream, I m so glad it was just a bad dream. RABIYA GUPTA

No prisoners would be in captivity People would be chained night and day, On top of Mt. Everest, children would play! On roads no cars or busses would ply, Traffic jams would move to the sky The waters of the ocean would be on land, An umbrella will be in everyone s hand! Suddenly we would have no atmosphere, Will our Earth become a square or still a sphere Kite flying would no longer be much fun, As everyone would always be on a fierce run! Life on Earth would not last, Our planet s glory would be a thing of the past Sir Isaac Newton would have no luck, As from an apple he wouldn t be struck! Priyavrat Gupta

If gravity were turned around We'd all fall up instead of down. If I fell up I'd laugh out loud To bump my head into a cloud. There'd be no skinnrd elbows or knees, Picking up clothes or raking leaves. And planes would need more sky to share For cars would soar into the air. I probably would never cry If I slipped and fell up in the sky. But how would we stay on the ground If gravity was turnd around? TALIN SHARMA 5 A
