1 Name Class Period Weather Page Project Outline 1. A. Temperatures around the US record the temperatures around the US on your birthday. The entire map must be color-coded to match the temperatures around the US and the rest of North America. B. Record all high/low pressure systems, rain, sunshine, hurricanes, jet streams and cold/warm fronts around N. America C. Include a key/legend for temperature color code and all symbols 2. Weather summary of the day. Include high/low, chance of precipitation, barometric pressure and weather conditions.

The student is expected to: (A) recognize that the Sun provides the energy that drives convection within the atmosphere and oceans, producing winds and ocean currents; (Supporting) (B) identify how global patterns of atmospheric movement influence local weather using weather maps that show high and low pressures and fronts; (Supporting) (C) identify the role of the oceans in the formation of weather systems such as hurricanes.
