Roy) New Central Book Agency, Calcutta, The book discusses elaborately the accounting principles and practices that are followed by local governments, both rural and urban, and it also examines the weaknesses or deficiencies that underlie such principles and practices. Efforts are also made in the book to prescribe measures that may be adopted with a view to increasing the effectiveness of the local government accounting and reporting system. [This book has been widely used by administrators of different local bodies, both rural and urban, and also used by academicians as reference.
