Identify appropriate crisis treatment options. Recognize when it is appropriate to transition to Home Health vs. Hospice care. Speaker Bio Lee Greer, M.D., MBA, is Chief Quality and Safety Officer and interim Chief Medical Officer for North Mississippi Health Services. Dr. Greer specializes in geriatric medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine. Doctor Greer is a member of the American Geriatrics Society, American Medical Association, Northeast Mississippi Medical Society, Mississippi State Medical Association and the American College of Physician Executives. He is also a current member of the Board of Directors for the Institute for Quality in Healthcare. A purpose driven professional, he currently serves as Senior Pastor at The Orchard Northside Campus in Tupelo, MS and is a Chaplain with Sanctuary Hospice offering spiritual support to patients and family members. Mr. Stanley has a Master s degree in Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and a BA in Philosophy and Religion from Mississippi State University. He currently resides in Saltillo, MS. Kathy Van Cleave, LMSW, LCMHT, received her Masters in Social Work from The University of Southern Mississippi and completed undergraduate work at Shorter College in Rome, GA. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Therapist. She has worked in Long Term Care, Secondary Education, and Community mental health. She currently serves as Director for the Department of Mental Health Division of Alzheimer s Disease and Other Dementia and has been with the Department since the Fall of She has presented at a variety of venues including the Southern Gerontological Society Conference in Lexington, KY and across Mississippi including the MS Conference on Social Welfare, National Association of Social Workers Annual Conferences, the MH/IDD Joint Conference, MS Nurses Association Conference, MAPDD Conferences as well as guest lectures at The University of Southern Mississippi and William Carey University and is a Discussant for the University of Mississippi Medical Center Student Fellowship in Bioethics. She and her husband Brad reside in Magee, MS.

Montgomery, LMFT Learning Objectives Identify foundational life stories as an essential starting place to maintain relationship Highlight methods of engagement with persons with Dementia Appreciate how reactivity hampers meaningful interaction with persons with dementia and understand why development of life themes preserves personhood for the caregiver and the person with Dementia. Speaker Bios Daniel C. Potts, MD, FAAN, is a neurologist, author, educator and champion of those with Alzheimer s disease and other dementias and their caregivers. Doctor Potts is currently Attending Neurologist at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center. A Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, he was chosen by the AAN as the 2008 Donald M. Palatucci Advocate of the Year, and has been designated an Architect of Change by Maria Shriver and blogs monthly on her website. A Pocket Guide for the Alzheimer s Caregiver ( written by Dr. Potts and his wife, Ellen W. Potts, MBA is recommended as a resource by the AAN, the Alzheimer s Association, and Maria Shriver. A clinical faculty member at the University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences and the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, Dr. Potts also holds appointments in the Honors College and the Alabama Research Institute on Aging at The University of Alabama. Doctor Potts is co-convener and medical advisor of the ClergyAgainstAlzheimer s Network, and is Editor-in Chief of Seasons of Caring, a multi-faith tradition collection of meditations for dementia caregivers. Inspired by his father s transformation from saw miller to watercolor artist in the throes of dementia through person-centered care and the expressive arts, Dr. Potts seeks to make these therapies more widely available through his foundation, Cognitive Dynamics ( Additionally he is passionate about promoting self-preservation and dignity for all persons with cognitive impairment. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Robert W. Montgomery, LMFT, holds a Master s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is in private practice in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. After enjoying a 26-year career working with a Fortune 500 company, Bob retired and then pursued a second career of becoming a systems therapist. Along with providing therapy for a broad range of issues such as bi-polar, anxiety, and depression, he is interest includes teenagers and adults who find themselves in transitions in life, career exploration, adjustment problems related to a medical diagnosis. He also offers a unique therapy where dementia has impacted a family and which is called The IV Pillars. Bob has been married for over 35 years and travels extensively worldwide with his wife. He originally hails from Memphis, Tennessee. He is a Presbyterian Lay Minister, is a musician and enjoys working out to offset his interest in preparing gourmet meals. Bob and his wife have three adult children who live from coast to coast. His eldest son is a business interests consultant, his daughter is a pediatrician, and his youngest son recently was the director for the video game version of Game of Thrones. They have 2 grandchildren.
