2 VECTUS PA An Integrated TCP/IP Based Communication Until recently, designing and building audio distribution systems with any degree of flexibility and intelligence has been a difficult and expensive undertaking, requiring large expenditures on wiring, conduit, switching equipment and installation labour. In addition, conventional public address systems using traditional analog have the added disadvantage of often being difficult and prohibitively expensive to reconfigure once installed. Incorporating by AEX SYSTEM which is built on top of TCP/IP, VECTUS VN Series enables audio to be dynamically routed under software control to any network point, providing unparalleled routing flexibility, all over standard Ethernet. Being TCP/IP compliant opens up a whole new world of functions, features and high level integration possibilities, previously unattainable by conventional systems. The VECTUS VN Series allows for the integration of all building services that are TCP/IP compliant such as Fire Alarm, Video Surveillance, Intrusion and Building Management s to provide instantaneous voice assisted response to each system. All these are accomplished within a single network system. is a high-level proprietary integrated network communication protocol which is built on top of TCP/IP. The oncology of is to heuristically optimise the interactive operation of multiple subsystems on network environment. It has been specifically created by AEX SYSTEM to provide the most manageable integration of Digital Audio, Video & Data Information. incorporating HIGHLIGHTED FEATURES MANAGEABLE PLATFORM COMMUNICATION INTERFACE AUDIO FEATURES - PC Paging with Graphical Zone Selection - Text Streaming Feature - Remote Text Streaming via the Internet - Digital Message Playback with Time Scheduler - Audio Information Playback (MP3) SURVEILLANCE FEATURES - Proactive Surveillance - Visual Paging - Visual Surveillance - Remote Live Video Recording VISUAL FEATURES - Visual Paging - Visual Monitoring of crowd response at visual paging zones pre and post paging Availability Accessibility Integrity Performance Reliability Regulatory Security Web Services XML/SOAP MODBUS/TCP OPC/DA 2.0 ODBC

3 TCP/IP Based Distributed PA Software Features PC Paging PC Paging provides the flexibility to allow any existing computer workstations connected to the LAN to be utilized as a Paging Station. Visual Paging Visual Paging allows building operators to visually monitor a situation while announcements are being made. This allows for more effective crowd control especially during emergency situations. Text Streaming Text Streaming provides consistent announcements by allowing audio paging to be done simply by typing the announcements into a Paging Station. Time Scheduling Time scheduling allows the system to perform automated daily tasks such as broadcasting of hourly messages, opening greeting and closing notice of a business operation. This allows business operations to run leaner and more efficiently. Internet Paging Live paging can be simultaneously done up to four sites located outside the LAN. Three modes of broadcast are available; Direct Audio Streaming, Delayed Audio Streaming (with Time Scheduler) or Text Streaming when the bandwidth is limited. Background Music Source The VECTUS system also doubles up as a BGM source with options of MP3 music or digital radio streaming via the Internet. FLR 3 FLR 2 FLR 1 GND Z1 Z2 Graphical Zone Selection Z3 Z4 Allows operators to accurately select zones during announcements from a virtual building displayed on the computer screen. Visual Security Utilising IP cameras, the system doubles up as a security personnel, automatically monitoring for intruders via motiondetection. Voice response is immediately relayed to the area of intrusion and also to security zones to alert the security personnels.

4 VECTUS Applications Public Address (PA) enhances the emergency broadcast, paging and BGM functions of a conventional system with multi-channels of high quality audio signal, transported simultaneously over a single CAT 5 cable. This simplifies cabling requirements and thus translates to significant cost saving in installation cost, both labour and material, as it requires less cabling, reduced cable size, conduit size and trunking size. PA works very much similarly to computer networks where packets of data are transmitted from one node to another with each of them having a unique address in the network system. The node(s) will then only pick up the packets if it is only addressed to them. Applications A node can consist of a Paging Console, Audio Insert Unit, Audio Extract Unit, a PC connected to the network via a Interface Card (NIC) that is loaded with the Manager or a Music Streaming Server that provides streams of audio channels. The PA can also be integrated with other building services that are TCP/IP compliant such as the Fire Alarm, CCTV system, Intrusion and Building Management to provide instantaneous voice assisted response to the feedback from each system. All these are accomplished within a single network system. 5 TCP/IP Based Distributed PA VECTUS Building Monitoring Fire Alarm Video Surveillance Developed by AEX, the VECTUS Series is a range of PA system combining revolutionary software based features with a platform for integrating a wide array of building services systems. SMS via GSM Access Control Reporting Two-Way Radio Intrusion Why Distributed PA? Transports Audio and Data in Digital There is no deterioration of audio quality and is not susceptible to external noise interference when being transported in digital format to multiple locations. The availability of digital fiber optic transmission makes long distance transportation possible. Logical Audio Routing Audio routing is done logically and not physically. Logical routing enables the system to be readily expandable and future proof. Audio is also transported bidirectional on a single cable, thus significantly reducing cabling. Reduced Cabling Requirements Multiple channels of audio are transmitted simultaneously over a single line, tremendously reducing cabling cost & works. Reduced cabling too translates to easy maintenance & troubleshooting. Use of Commonly Available Peripherals Common off-the-shelf network switches and CAT 5E cables are easily available at very low cost, made possible by the economies of scale in the IT sector. Why TCP/IP Based? A TCP/IP based system provides the ease of integration via a common platform that conforms to standard computer Ethernet protocol. Compared to proprietary protocols, systems that run on proprietary protocols are bounded to them and will only work with other subsystems that run on the same proprietary protocol. Being an entirely TCP/IP compliant system, rather than just a system that connects to a PC to allow control, enables true multi-system integration and expandability without the need of protocol translators or interfaces and a separate cabling network for the audio routing, an economically viable solution. One important point for consideration between a proprietary protocol based system and a TCP/IP based system is the dependency on a crucial main controller of the proprietary protocol system. The 'main controller' is required to synchronise and provide the heartbeat to the entire system. Failure to the main controller will bring the entire system to a halt. Unlike a TCP/IP based system, failure to any of the nodes will only affect that particular function.

6 VECTUS PA An Integrated TCP/IP Based Communication Until recently, designing and building audio distribution systems with any degree of flexibility and intelligence has been a difficult and expensive undertaking, requiring large expenditures on wiring, conduit, switching equipment and installation labour. 7 TCP/IP Based Distributed PA Switch Power PA SYSTEM AMPLIFER Switch Power PA SYSTEM AMPLIFER Switch Multi Manager Loudspeaker (Zone D) Loudspeaker (Zone C) Loudspeaker (Zone B) Loudspeaker (Zone A) IP Camera Paging Station Switch Power PA SYSTEM AMPLIFIER Central Control Centre Paging Station (Control Room) The Central Control Centre normally houses the Configuration and Monitoring facilities of the entire Public Address. Remote monitoring, paging and configuration is possible via the Internet when the network is connected to an Internet gateway or via a Wide Area (WAN). With the VN Series Distributed PA series, multiple small to medium size business units or premise can be controlled and monitored from a central location. Standalone Configuration The VECTUS Distributed PA can be configured as a standalone system for a single building as well as a total integration of multiple standalone systems when required. Where possible a total building solution can consist of the VECTUS Distributed PA. With this configuration the PA s would be distributed throughout the building bringing about significant cost savings in cabling. Multiple Building Configuration There are possibilities for some applications comprising of individual buildings be integrated together. These buildings may be small premises or business units consisting of a single zone PA system. The VECTUS Distributed PA allows these multi standalone system to be easily integrated together. This form of application usually applies to enterprise level businesses that comprises of multiple chain stores such as convenience stores application and even petrol kiosk applications. Allowing this chain of stores to be integrated presents the owner with enhanced benefits on managing it operations.
