2 Company The first meter of cable ever produced at BIOKAL was twin lead, 300 Ohm, used as antenna down lead for black and white TV sets, back in Many things have been changed since then: our plant, our equipment, our products, our organization. The only thing remained unchanged is our commitment to quality. By watching closely the evolution of technology and also the needs of our customers, we continuously improve our products and services, in order to offer flexible solutions, that contribute to the implementation of technology to everyday life. Hundreds of millions meters of cables have been produced at our manufacturing plant in Pentalofos, Thessaloniki, Greece and have been distributed to every domestic and many international destinations. 3 Manufacturing technology We are using SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) systems and SPC (Statistical Process Control) methods in our production since All of our coaxial cable production lines are monitored by state of the art equipment that provide on line FFT spectrum analysis and SRL prediction for frequencies up to 3 GHz. OUTER SKIN FOAM INNER SKIN At BIOKAL, all coaxial cables are manufactured with skin-foam-skin, physically foamed insulation. The main layer of physically foamed polyethylene is included between two layers of solid polyethylene. The resulting cable has lower attenuation values, better mechanical strength, protection from moisture absorption and excellent ageing characteristics. Moreover, physical foaming process with the use of nitrogen gas is absolutely safe for the environment. According to EN coaxial cables are categorized in classes according to their shielding efficiency. After experimenting with more than 200 alternative cable designs for the last years, we are in a position to offer highly shielded, yet cost effective, coaxial cables, up to class A++.

4 Quality Knowing that cable is a very important factor for reliable communication systems, from the founding of our company we undertook a commitment for products of highest quality. Putting our commitment into practice, is a continuous challenge that all of us who work at Biokal have proudly accepted. Therefore we invest in high technology equipment, automation, efficient internal organization, human recourses, research and development. Environment At BIOKAL we strongly believe that active protection of environment contributes to a better future for all. We concentrate our efforts on producing cables of the highest quality, applying the best available manufacturing technology, with the minimum consumption of raw materials and energy and the minimum impact on environment. In the spirit of environmental awareness, since 2000, we replaced standard PVC, with lead-free PVC compounds. Moreover most of our cables can be produced with an alternative sheath made of HFFR (Halogen Free Flame Retardant) material. All of our cables comply with the requirements of the RoHs Directive, 2002/95/EC as from
