This question tests Knowledge and Understanding. 1 mark Award 1 mark for any one of answers contained in Source A e.g. symbol of a vow or promise made. 2. This question tests Knowledge and Understanding. 2 marks Level 1 - award 1 mark for a simple statement e.g. that the couple should stay together until one of them dies. Level 2 - award 2 marks if an extra point is made e.g. no divorce or separation/commitment for life. 3. This question tests Evaluation. 4 marks (a) (b) 1 mark for correct answer. e.g. family selects marriage partner. Level 1 award 1 mark for a response limited to simplistic statements which may show little understanding of connection with religious belief. Level 2 award 2-3 marks for a response which will include a number of reasons that will probably refer to importance of marriage and family life, keeping faith strong, older family members are more wise etc. 4. This question tests Evaluation. 3 marks Level 1 1 mark Limited response which may not be able to discuss both parts of the question but at the higher level of the mark band will clearly demonstrate some religious understanding of the issue.
