The underside is etched with our light pixels which control the flow of light downward into the custom optical diffuser.

Light reflector The high quality aluminium light reflector ensures that all light is reflected back into the light transmitter. Innovative light transmitter The surface properties of the light transmitter act in a similar manner to fibre optics and allow light to move evenly throughout the fitting. The base of the panel is covered in light pixels which transmits all the light into the custom optical polycarbonate diffuser. Polycarbonate light diffuser Unlike acrylic, the polycarbonate diffuser will not drip hot plastic in the event of a fire (TPA Rating), providing extra safety assurance in the workplace. The custom optical polycarbonate diffuser ensures that the spread of light emitted from Skytile provides an even light distribution to the room. Exceptionally thin and light weight structure The ultra-slim aluminium construction houses the LEDs and aligns them to the light transmitter. 16 Understanding Lighting Performance A lighting revolution: from Watts to lumens LED lighting technology is improving the way work spaces are lit and changing our understanding of how best to illuminate these spaces to provide the safest, most comfortable and productive environment. Discussions on lighting have traditionally meant using the term Watts. However, the high-efficiency of LED lighting means that discussion of energy consumption becomes much less relevant and the term lumens is becoming the primary measure of lighting performance. Lumens measures light output, while Watts is a measure of energy consumption. 17 Once light leaves a fitting, it spreads out in different directions. Cone diagrams Cone diagrams describe the amount of light at different distances from a fitting and is measured by the lux level. 19 What does near daylight mean? Skytile provides a 4700K colour temperature which is comparable to natural daylight and provides a high quality of light for working. What is the average life expectancy of a Skytile? The likely life expectancy for a Skytile fitting is 40,000 hours. However, depending on usage it could last much longer. JCC are pleased to offer a 5 year extended warranty for added reassurance. How easy are the Skytile panels to install? Whether you are retrofitting Skytile or installing it in a new building, the installation couldn t be simpler. The panels are very light weight and are designed for easy installation to minimise disruption. Skytile comes with a separate driver and in-line connectors for quick installation.
