The city offers an unrivalled atmosphere with the breathtaking Old Town, begging to be explored on the hair raising ghost tour, which we have included in the programme. We will take you on a tour which covers all the main points of interest that are a must see. Dates: October 2014 Arrival in Edinburgh 17 Oct before 6 pm. 3 Sightseeing Edinburgh is second to none when it comes to offering the most fantastic sightseeing within an easily reached area! We will, of course, show you all the most important sights such as Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, the Scottish Parliament, The Royal Mile, The Royal Yacht Britannia and the Scott monument (where you can climb the 287 steps to the Top if brave enough!) as well as the impressive New Town. Once you know the city, you will have some time to explore the museums and the City further. Shopping Taking a break from the many cultural sights, Edinburgh offers great shopping with the main shopping street alongside Princes Street Gardens, a park at the foot of the spectacular castle hill. In addition to the regular high street shopping, Edinburgh city centre offers two shopping centres, and you will, of course, have plenty of time to explore the shops. Socialising The programme is designed to make the most of the time, and making friends is an important part. You will mix and socialise with fellow students during free time and over dinner. You will also have free time to further explore some of the sights or the shops with your new friends. Sleeping We will be staying in a hostel, and you should expect multibedded rooms. Linen will be provided, but please bring a towel, and don t forget your toothbrush! Meals On the arrival day we will get together in the evening for a snack, getting to know each other. We will provide breakfast each morning and we will take you for dinner in the evening. For lunch you and your friends are free to decide what and where you would like to eat.

Leaving Edinburgh behind, we will take you on a breathtaking tour of the famous Scottish Highlands. Our coach driver is a seasoned local and will find the very best spots for you. Spectacular scenery In addition to enjoying stunning Scottish scenery, you will see spectacular castles and perhaps even catch a glimpse of Nessie when we stop at the famous Loch Ness! Whisky and wildlife On this tour you will have the opportunity to visit a whisky distillery (sorry, tasting is not allowed but the fascinating process from barley to single malt is thoroughly explained and the fumes in the air allows you to imagine the taste. 5 Touring the Highlands We have packed a programme of exploring and socialising for you. Starting out from Edinburgh we will take you through Pitlochry, a charming town, where we will look for our distillery experience. You will have some time to explore, and there will be plenty of lunch options. Having sampled our first taste of the spectacular Highlands, we will spend out first night in another city, very different from Edinburgh and very much a Highland hub. Inverness and Loch Ness Inverness is found at one end of the very long Loch Ness, and the city is known as the capital of the Highlands. We will gather for dinner and enjoy our evening together, before setting off alongside the lake in the morning. Fort William and Stirling Close to the highest mountain in Scotland, Ben Nevis, we will spend our second night in Fort William, which is more or less the other side of the Highlands. Returning through spectacular scenery we will stop in Stirling, where you have the choice of exploring the stunning castle or the many shops. There will be an airport drop off early afternoon before we reach Edinburgh City centre. Sleeping We will be staying in hostels, and you should expect multibedded rooms. Linen will be provided, but please bring a towel, and don t forget your toothbrush! Meals We will provide breakfast each morning, and we will take you for dinner in the evening on the two nights we are travelling. Dublin s fair city Dublin has it all, a charming mix of medieval, Georgian and modern architecture, a wealth of history and culture, a legendary literary tradition, wonderful shopping, and of course fantastic characters! In addition to the many great sights this fascinating city has to offer, our trip will take you past the Guinness Storehouse the centre of Guinness Brewing since 1770, and one of Dublin s most popular visitor attractions. 7 Sightseeing Getting to know Dublin is best done by foot, and we will show you the most important sights this way. Walking though historic Dublin we will take in sights such as Trinity College, the City Hall, Dublin Castle and St Stevens Green. You will see the National Gallery of Ireland, Christ Church Cathedral and Trinity College, where you can visit one of Irelands most important national treasures, the Book of Kells, which contains the Latin text of the 4 gospels, decorated by Irish monks in the year 800AD. Shopping Having explored the city and it s many cultural sights, Dublin offers the opportunity of extensive shopping in the city centre. Socialising The programme is designed to make the most of the time, and making friends is an important part. You will mix and socialise with fellow students during free time and over dinner. We hope to fit in an evening of traditional Irish dancing, and we will definitely have some enjoyable evenings in good company. Transport You arrange your own transport to and from the trip. This means you are free to choose the cheapest & most convenient way to travel. Make sure you will be able to get to the trip start point in good time, and will have enough time to get to the airport / train station at the end of the trip. If you re not sure if your travel plans are OK us before you book! You must arrive on the start day and time of the trip, and leave on the day and time the trip finishes. Travelling overnight (e.g. on overnight ferrys or buses) isn t allowed. your travel plans to us at least 2 weeks before the start of the trip!
