Look at the pictures and write as in the example. Then, categorize the clothes. Clothes Season of the year Why? Wellington boots Winter/ autumn because it s raining

Imagine you are a weather reporter. Look at the example and write sentences. Write 1 sentence for each clothes item. On Monday it s going to be raining. Don t forget your umbrella! On Tuesday it s going to be sunny. You must wear sunglasses.

WEATHER FORECAST GUIDELINES: Imagine that you are meteorologists. Choose one city (1 for each group of 3). You ll have to give a meteorological forecast for this city and compare it to your own city, in that case, Barcelona. Thanks at the work previously done, at the end you will be able to create a weather forecast script for the city that your group choose and you will compare it to Barcelona using superlatives and comparatives, verb structures such as going to and will and finally be able to recognize what clothes are suitable for each weather condition. Steps to follow when writing your script: You will: 1. Say hello (morning or afternoon), say who you are, the date (month and day) and that you are working on TV news. 2. Give the weather conditions and temperatures of a city and compare it to your own city. Use comparatives and superlatives. See the charts done during the project. Useful expressions for weather conditions: For today (Monday): It is... The highest /lowest temperature is... For tomorrow (Tuesday): It will be / It s going to...(be) We can expect a highest / lowest temperature of... When talking about clothes: Make sure you don t forget your sunglasses! Make sure you bring your umbrella! Make sure to wear warm clothing when you go out! You must wear a t-shirt today! When saying temperatures: Numbers + degree: 14ºC Fourteen degrees Minus + number + degree: -14ºC Minus fourteen degrees. 3. While you give the weather, you should suggest clothes or accessories for the inhabitants of these regions. 4. Say farewell, say who you are and that you are working on TV news.

EXAMPLE OF A WEATHER FORECAST: PARIS: Introduction: Hi there. It s Friday, February 21 st and I m Abigail Thomson for KLM TV. I ve got your weather forecast for this week in Paris, France! Give the weather conditions and temperatures: Let s start with today. It s cold and rainy in Paris with temperatures around 10 C. We ve got the same conditions for tomorrow but the highest temperature will be 8ºC. So, today is hotter that tomorrow. Make sure to wear your raincoat and don t forget to bring your umbrella!! (Talking about clothes) For next Wednesday, we will have some storms, so it is going to be a stormy day. It will be very cold. The lowest temperature will be 4ªC. Make sure to wear warm clothing when you go out!! A nice scarf will be perfect! (Talking about clothes) Finally, Thursday and Friday are going to be much nicer with warm temperatures. Thursday will be mostly sunny and Friday is going to be sunny. We will have a highest temperature around 15ºC and a lowest temperature around 7ºC. Make sure you don t forget your sunglasses! (Talking about clothes) Compare it to Barcelona: If we compare Paris weather with Barcelona weather, we can see that Paris is colder than Barcelona with lower temperatures around 4ºC. Barcelona is much hotter than Paris with higher temperatures around 16ºC. Farewell: This is Abigail Thomson, for KLM. I ll see you later this evening for your weekend forecast. Have a lovely day!

WEATHER FORECAST DRAFT CITY: MEMBERS OF THE GROUP: Introduction Weather conditions and temperatures. Include suggestions about clothes! Compare it to Barcelona Farewell.
