1 Money Saving Recipes Washing Soda Washing soda is often an ingredient in several recipes but isn t always available in your local store and can be as much as three times the cost of baking soda. Grab a cookie sheet or baking pan, spread a box {or a thick layer} of baking soda on it and stick it in the oven at 400 degrees for 1 hour. Store in airtight container and use as needed. One Year Supply of Laundry Detergent (powder) 3 bars Fels Naptha soap, grated 1 box borax (76oz) 1 box washing soda (55oz) 2 cups of baking soda 2 large containers of store brand Oxyclean 1-2 containers of fabric softener crystals (28 oz) Grate soap with grater OR food processor (include a cup of borax to help food processor). Mix all ingredients in a double line trash bag to mix well. Store in an airtight container. Use 2-3 tablespoons per load. Add directly to inside of machine if you have an HE front load washer. 1/2 cup washing soda 1/2 cup borax Liquid Laundry Detergent 1/3 Bar of Fels-Naptha soap {or your favorite soap, use the whole bar} Bucket {2 gallon size or larger} Empty laundry detergent containers or bucket with lid to store detergent. Grate soap over large pot or saucepan. Add 6 cups of water. Heat over medium-high until soap dissolves and melts. Add washing soda & Borax and stir until dissolved. Remove from heat and set aside. Pour 4 cups hot water into bucket, and then add soap mixture. Stir, and then add 1 gallon + 6 cups of additional water. Stir! Transfer to a bucket with a lid, or pour into empty laundry detergent containers. Set aside, and let it sit overnight, or up to 24 hours, to thicken and gel up. Stir or shake before each use, as it will continue to gel.

2 4 tablespoons borax No Grate Laundry Detergent 4 tablespoons washing soda 2 tablespoons liquid dish detergent 3 tablespoons fabric fragrance beads 4 cups of hot water Put these ingredients in a one-gallon jug. Pour 4 cups hot water into the jug. Swirl until ingredients are dissolved in the liquid. Let liquid cool. Then fill almost to the top with cold water. The bubbles will overflow out of the bottle. Makes about one gallon. Scented Laundry Crystals Large container of Epsom salt essential oil of your choice Start with drops of essential oil per 1 cup of Epsom salt (you can add more for a stronger scent if you prefer). Add ½ cup inside machine with each load. 12 cups water 1/4 cup lemon juice 1 cup hydrogen peroxide Bleach Alternative Mix. Add 2 cups per wash load or put in spray bottle and use as a household cleaner. 1 cup hot water 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide 1/2 cup washing soda Faux OxyClean Mix ingredients in a mason jar with lid. Shake and add to wash or let clothes soak a couple of hours {use within 6 hrs of making}

3 laundry scent boosting crystals 1 cup hot water 6 cups of white vinegar 1 cup baking soda Super Scented Fabric Softener Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of your scent-booster of choice to 1 cup of hot water. Let it sit while you combine the other ingredients. Add 1 cup of baking soda to an extra large bowl. Then VERY SLOWLY add 6 cups of white distilled vinegar to bowl. It will foam up! Add scent booster to bowl. Mix and pour into large gallon bottle. Use ½ cup in a Downy softener ball or in the softener dispenser on your washing machine. Color Catching Cloths Add 1 tablespoon of washing soda into a cup of hot water until it dissolves. Soak white scrap fabric or cloth diapers cut in half. Hang wet cloths and let dry. Toss a fresh cloth in with each load. 1 cup of laundry detergent 1 cup powdered dish washer detergent 1 cup bleach ½ cup borax Laundry Whitener Mix and add to a small load with hot water and let soak at least a couple of hours or overnight. 2/3 cups liquid dish detergent 2/3 cups ammonia 6 tablespoon baking soda 2 cups warm water Mix ingredients in spray bottle. 4 Reusable Dryer Sheets Several clean old wash clothes or baby diapers {cut in 1/2} Favorite fabric softener Take a cloth and soak it in liquid fabric softener for about ten minutes, or until it s thoroughly saturated. Squeeze it out, and hang it somewhere until it s dry. Now you can use it like a dryer sheet... just toss it in with each dryer load. You can use the same cloth over and over again {10-12 times}! Wrinkle-Release Spray 1/3 cup liquid fabric softener (homemade or otherwise) 2/3 cup water Mix your three ingredients and pour them into a spray bottle. Then take your wrinkled garment, place it on a hanger, spray generously on clothing then tug and pull item to smooth. Hang or lay flat to dry. If you are in a rush, toss it in the dryer for a few minutes after misting, and you re good to go. Home Dry Cleaning Cloths 1 cup warm water 1 teaspoon borax 1 teaspoon powder oxiclean 3 drops favorite essential oil white cotton cloths (old dinner napkins, cloth diapers or flour sack cloth squares) Mix ingredients into a bowl and saturate the cloth squares. Ring out excess liquid and store in sealed container. Toss one cloth and garments into dry cleaning bag. A dryer cycle of 30 minutes is recommended. Faux Febreeze 1/8 cup Fabric Softener Hot Tap Water - To Fill the Bottle to the Top Combine, shake, and use! Mix in a sprayer bottle: 1 cup olive oil 1/2 cup lemon juice Furniture Cleaning Spray Spray furniture and wipe with cloth.

5 Ultra All-Purpose Cleaner 2 cup vinegar 4 cups of water ¼ cup of liquid dish detergent ½ cup of ammonia Mix ingredients in gallon container and use to refill spray bottle. Window Cleaner Empty gallon jug (OJ jug or laundry container) 1/2 cup ammonia 2 cups of rubbing alcohol 1 teaspoon liquid dish detergent Empty spray cleaner bottle Add ingredients to gallon bottle and refill spray bottle as needed. Faux Clorox Cleaner 1 Empty Plastic Spray Bottle 1/3 Cup Bleach 1-2 tablespoons of liquid laundry detergent Add to bottle. Fill with water and shake! several cotton cloths all purpose cleaner(recipe above) air tight storage container Reusable Cleaning Wipes Pour enough cleaner over cloths and store in sealed container. Wash cloths after cleaning and repeat. Disposable Cleaning Wipes 2 cups all-purpose cleaner Role of Paper towels {cut in half} with cardboard center removed Gallon Ziploc bag Mix ingredients and pour into storage bag. Place one half of paper towel role (with cardboard center removed) in bag. Use!

6 Disposable Furniture Wipes ½ cup lemon juice + 1 tsp lemon ext 1 cup olive oil Role of Paper towels {cut in half} with cardboard center removed Gallon Ziploc bag Mix ingredients and pour into storage bag. Place one-half of paper towel role in bag. Use! Dish Washer Detergent 2 cups borax 2 cups washing Soda 1 cup salt 10 packages unsweetened lemonade drink mix A container to store mix Mix all ingredients well and store in a sealed container. Use 1 2 tablespoons per load. Faux Jet Dry Simply add White Vinegar to your Rinse Agent repository in your dishwasher and start! Tub/Shower/Sink Cleaner 12 oz. vinegar {heated} 10 oz. liquid dish detergent Heat the vinegar for 2 minutes and add to a spray bottle. Add the liquid dish detergent and shake gently to combine. Use to clean your sinks, tubs, and showers. 1 cup white vinegar 1 tbsp. cornstarch 2 tbsp. liquid dish detergent Spray bottle Super Soap Scum Cleaner Mix cornstarch and vinegar. Microwave for 2 minutes. Add to empty spray bottle

7 ½ cup rubbing alcohol or vinegar 2 cups water 8 drops liquid dish detergent Spray Bottle Granite Counter Cleaner Add all the ingredients to the spray bottle. Shake and use. 2 cups white vinegar 2 cups rubbing alcohol 2 tbsp favorite scented cleanser All Purpose Disinfectant 1 gallon water (boiled for 10 minutes then cooled) 1/4-1/2 cup favorite ultra cleanser (Awesome, Greased Lightning, etc.) Using a kitchen funnel, add all ingredients except water to a one gallon jug (I re-use the gallon jug my drinking water comes in). Fill gallon jug the rest of the way with cooled, boiled water. Fill spray bottles, using a kitchen funnel, to keep in as many rooms in your house as you find a need for. 1 tsp. washing soda 2 tsp. Borax 1/2 cup white vinegar 1/2 tsp. liquid dish detergent 2 cups hot water All Purpose Cleaner Combine all ingredients in an empty spray bottle. Shake gently to mix. Clean away! Faux Soft Scrub 1 2/3 cups baking soda 1/2 cup liquid dish detergent 1/2 cup water 2 tablespoons white vinegar 2/3 cup of Borax Stir liquid soap into baking soda. Add the water, and stir to be as smooth as possible. Add the vinegar and stir again. Add a few drops of water if too thick. Pour into a squeeze bottle. A clean, empty liquid dish detergent bottle works well. Shake well before using, and keep tightly closed between uses.

8 Swiffer Wet Jet Cleaner Refill Use a utility knife to cut hole in bottom of empty Wet Jet bottle. In a gallon jug mix 3 cups of water, 3 cups of vinegar, and ½ cup favorite Fabuloso scented cleaner. Using a funnel, pour solution into bottom opening of empty Wet Jet bottle. Reusable Swiffer Clothing Pads Large chenille tube socks -dry or wet (with favorite all-purpose cleaner) Swiffer Liquid Hand Soap/Body Wash 8 oz. bar of favorite scented soap, grated 2 tablespoons of glycerin 1 gallon of water (maybe more or less, depending on desired consistency) Add glycerin and grated soap to 1 gallon of boiling hot water. Remove pot from heat and let sit over 24 hours. Wisk mixture after it has cooled and pour into gallon bottle. Use as refill. Hand Sanitizer 1/3 cup of Aloe Vera Gel 2/3 cup of Rubbing Alcohol 8-10 drops of essential oil - optional Recycled hand sanitizer or liquid soap bottle Measure out ingredients into a bowl. Stir. Pour into empty bottle. Screw the pump back on. Shake and use. Scented Body Powder 1 cup cornstarch ½ cups baking soda 10 to 15 drops essential oil of choice (Optional) ¼ cup dry rice Mix the first three ingredients together in a bowl. Sift if there are any clumps and transfer to the container of your choice. A salt shaker works great!

9 Instant Oatmeal Packets 10 cups of quick oats 2 teaspoons salt 1-2 cups brown sugar (depending on how sweet you like your oatmeal) 1 cup non-dairy creamer snack-sized plastic baggies Mix in a large bowl. Stir until well mixed. Measure 1/2 cup of the oatmeal mixture into each snacksized plastic ziploc bag and seal. Add 3/4 1 cup of water to a packet and microwave for 1-2 minutes. Makes approximately 24 servings. Enjoy!
