The connection line with the diameter of 1016 mm encounters a steep slope section of 110 m in Pingchang County where heavy crane is unable to enter. Therefore the following construction scheme is adopted the pipeline section is prefabricated on the cliff top then slid down to the position with the help of shovel and pulley block. By taking this construction method and rigorous measures the project is fulfilled smoothly. The concrete construction method and procedure as well as the considerations of ameliorating the construction technology are presented in this paper. Xuzhou China ) Abstract Zhengzhou-Anyang Long-distance Oil Product Pipeline crosses Yallow River using the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) technique. The crossing construction is difficult because of ultra long distance (4 600 m) shifting riverbed and deep riverbed scouring. This paper presents the scheme optimization of the pipeline crossing project and its practical process with emphasis on some new methods such as opposite drilling with two HDD drillers tracking tube drilling pilot-hole interconnection cooperative reaming pullback of main pipeline and optical cable casing with one HDD driller connecting two pipelines in the middle place of the crossing. The accumulated plentiful construction experience in the project practice is helpful for other HDD projects. Associated with the characteristics of RFQ-68 9 type flexible composite high-pressure pipeline and based on many engineering applications the construction methods for the flexible composite pipeline are summed up in this paper with respect to storage hoisting transportation trenching laying backfill pressure test and so on. These methods have the advantages such as convenient installation fast construction progress high efficiency low labor intensity simple equipment and low cost and can meet the needs of gas field production.
