Genesis 22:13 Good morning, my brothers and sisters. I feel good this morning! I am excited to be here looking at your smiling faces, standing behind this sacred desk, in the presence of this great man of God, Bishop Stewart. I feel that I am at home. When we met, Bishop Stewart asked me, Do you preach the gospel? I would like now to attempt to answer that question. Abraham s ram in the bush Genesis 22:1-14 Abraham was in trouble. He needed a miracle. He was a man of faith, who would pick up and move when the Lord told him to. He had had a son when he was 100 years old. That was a miracle! Now he needed another miracle. Jesus changing water into wine was a miracle John 2:1-10 But miracles are not limited to biblical times! Miracles are still happening today. Forty million Black people in America with full rights of 1

2 citizenship that s a miracle! Can you imagine forty million Africans showing up at one time at the American consulate in Nairobi, Kenya, requesting a visa? There was a time when you had to be a nurse or secretary or have some other special skill to get a visa. Now anybody can come! That s a miracle! Tiger Woods, a brown-skinned young man with a strong Black father, owning the game of golf, which is played with a white ball. Venus and Serena, dark-skinned beauties with a strong Black father number one in tennis. Those are miracles! It s a miracle for me to be standing behind this sacred desk with no theology degree, never attended seminary, never been ordained as a minister. I don t have a strong voice, can t even shout! That s a miracle! But I have received a call to preach. When God speaks, who can but prophesy? Moses, the reluctant stuttering prophet, was called to prophesy. When the spirit touches you, you have to move! I have received a call to preach! 2

3 These messages coming from above into my head at 2:00 in the morning. Can t sleep, can t stay in the bed. Must get up and write down these words coming from above. In answer to Bishop Stewart s question, do you preach the gospel? I am anointed to preach the gospel! When you are anointed for a position, you don t have to fight for it. The position comes to you! David, the shepherd boy, did not have to fight to be anointed future king of Israel. He was annointed by the prophet Samuel. So I tell you that miracles are still happening today! Somebody here is ready for a miracle! Whatever your condition, God has a miracle for you! The New Testament says: With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). Do you need a miracle? I need a miracle! I need a miracle! Do you need one? Which brings up the question: Why do bad things happen to good people? 1. Test of faith. a. Abraham s faith was tested. 1. He was told to move from Haran to Canaan. 3

4 2. He was then told: Kill your son. b. Job lost his children, possessions, and his health. His wife told him to Curse God and die! (Job 42:10). It s not over yet! God has a miracle for you! 2. To make us stronger and to keep us on the straight and narrow. a. If we have no problems, we become fat and sluggish. b. The people of Israel were sent into bondage when they strayed from the path. How to get your miracle? 1. If you know what it is, ask for it. a. Jesus said: Ask, and it shall be given you (Matthew 7:7). b. Don t be bashful! Speak to the Lord and ask Him for your miracle! 2. Answer the call. a. Jonah was sent to Nineveh to tell the people to repent. b. Running away from the call is always a big mistake. 3. Keep the faith 2 Timothy 4:7 Be like Paul. Fight the good fight. Finish the course. 4

5 Pass your test of faith. Your miracle is coming! God has a miracle for you, if you ask for it, answer the call, and keep the faith. There are 3 levels of activity in church 1. Just attending services. a. Mark them present. 2. Enjoying the service. a. Give them credit. 3. Having an experience. a. I can t speak for you, but, I m having an experience today! I m on fire with the spirit! Is anybody here having an experience? How can you just sit there like a rock, unmoved, when the good news is exploding all around you? Somebody ought to throw up their hands and shout for joy! Your miracle is coming! God has a miracle for you! If you believe that God has a miracle for you, stand to your feet and praise Him. Praise His Holy name! Ask for your miracle! Answer the call. 5
