2 EVENT FORMAT Stage 1: Duration: 24 October - 31 October qualifiers of field 256 every 2 days - 1 qualifier Stage 1 duration: 8 days (16 players qualify) Stage 2: Duration: 2 November - 5 November 2016 Player meeting: 1 November 2016 (5 pm) field of 128 players Draw - 32 players are seeded in the draw ENTRY FEE Entry fee for Stage 1 = $400 Entry fee for Stage 2 = $400 ACCOMMODATION The official Hotel of the Kuwait Open 9-Ball Championship is Crowne Plaza Kuwait Al Thuraya City. The concerned authorities in the state of Kuwait shall reserve the right to refuse admitting any person into the country without explanation. Passenger should not be black listed in the state of Kuwait. Passenger should be holding a passport valid for more than six month from the date of travel to Kuwait. Passenger should register his residence address in Kuwait when applying for the visa at visas counter at the airport. TRANSPORTATION Kuwait International Airport transfers and shuttle services to and from the venue are available by the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

4 RULES AND REGULATIONS This tournament will be conducted and played according to WPA rules and regulations. Stage 1: 9 Ball on the spot Race to 7 single elimination Alternative Break Stage 2: 9 Ball on the spot Race to 9 Double Knock Out Last 64 single elimination ( race to 11 ) Alternative break in all cases. Final Race to 13 The Three Point Break Rule (1) On the break shot, a minimum of three object balls must either be pocketed, or touch the head string line, or a combination of both. For example, if one object ball is pocketed, then at least two object balls must touch the head string line; or if two object balls are pocketed, then at least one object ball must touch the head string line. To touch the head string line means that the edge of the object ball must reach (break) the string line. (2) If a player fails to meet the requirements in (1), but otherwise makes a legal break, the incoming player has the choice to accept the tables as is, or hand the shot back to his opponent. (3) In accepting the table as is, the incoming player is not permitted to play a "push-out", he must play a legal shot to the ball on. (4) If the table is handed back to the breaker, the breaker is permitted to play a push-out. If so, his opponent will then have the choice to either play the shot, or hand it back. (5) If a player fails to meet the requirements of (1), but otherwise makes a legal break and pockets the 9 ball, the 9 ball is reposted before the next shot is played.

5 DRESS CODE All competitors must wear a polo or button down style shirt with sleeves and fold over collar. Shirt or polo shirt must be tucked in. T-shirts and athletic wear of any kind, including but not limited to: sweats, swimwear, jogging suits, uniforms or jerseys are not permitted. All competitors must wear proper dress pants or casual slacks. Jeans and shorts are not permitted All competitors are required to wear clean, neat, close-toed dress shoes at all times.
