2 Why Sell Popcorn? Money should never be a reason why a youth misses out on Scouting. Selling popcorn allows all youth to participate. Timeline Aug 1 Aug 25 Aug 29 Sept 2 Sept 8 Sept 9 Oct 31 Raise ALL the money your unit needs to fund the entire program for one year. 70% Return. Trail s End returns over 70% of the money to Scouting to support your unit, Scout families, and local council. Life Lessons. Teach Scouts the life lessons of earning their own way. Scout Advancement opportunities. College and Mission Scholarships. Scouts can earn scholarships for college or an LDS mission from selling popcorn. 3 SHOW AND SELL 2016 Popcorn Sales Guide There are Five great ways to sell popcorn! Take a look at the different ways to sell below and choose to do one or all. The more ways you sell the more commission you will get! Place your order online at Sell.Trails-End.com by August 29 th at midnight. Scouts sell product at a location or event, like in front of a shopping center or fair. Replenish your popcorn during the sale as a first come first serve bases at the Council office. Return everything else no later than October 31st 1:30 5:30 PM. This is fun for boys to do together! TAKE ORDER Scouts go door to door and take orders using preprinted popcorn order forms SHOW AND DELIVER Show & Deliver is a form of Take Order, but requires the help of a vehicle and driver or wagon. It works particularly well in saving time where you don t have to return to deliver the product ordered. Many Scouts and parents who have tried this newer method like it better than Take Order! Give it a try! Fill the parent or other adult s vehicle with a variety of Show & Sell products. Orders are submitted online at Sell.Trails-End.com by October 31st. Be sure each Scout keeps a copy of his order list so he can deliver the popcorn when he gets it. Product is picked up by the unit on Nov 10th or 11th Scouts deliver product to customers TIP: Use your order forms from last year to ask repeat customers! Go door to door and ask if they d like to buy some popcorn and support Scouting. If they want a product you have, they can buy it right then and there. ONLINE SALES Most Scouts have friends and family that do not live locally. Online sales are a great way for those important people in a Scout s life to support him. Get started today: Go to sell.trails-end.com to login or create an account CORPORATE This works well for savvy Scouts! Here are a few ideas but there are more. Have Scout attend a staff meeting where they can tell all the employees about popcorn. Create your own personalized online selling page Share your online selling link with friends and family via and social media Track your online sales Beginning August 1st thru October 31st Online sales along with show and sell and take orders count towards Scout Rewards. NEW PRODUCTS that are only available online including Chocolates, Nuts and Coffee. Set up a booth sale at the business at the lunch hour or when employees are leaving work. Ask the manager or the owner if he would like to purchase popcorn as a holiday gift for his employees. Don t forget to have parents approach their work to allow their Scout to sell in one or more of the methods described. This is a great opportunity for older Scouts to practice their presentation skills and show the business community the maturity and motivation possessed by older Scouts. 3

Classic Caramel Corn $10.00 $ White Cheddar Cheese $15.00 $ Jalapeno Cheddar Cheese $15.00 $ Unbelievable Butter Microwave $20.00 $ Kettle Corn Microwave $25.00 $ Premium Carmel Corn/ Almonds, Cashews & Pecans $20.00 $ **White Chocolatey Pretzels $25.00 $ **Chocolatey Caramel Crunch in Tin $25.00 $ Cheese Lover s Collection in Tin $35.00 $ **Sweet and Savory Collection $40.00 $ **Chocolate Lover s Collection in Tin $60.00 $ **These products are available for Show and Sell, and are available for Take Order but cannot be returned. Chocolate will melt in the sun and in hot cars! Be sure to have coolers in front of stores and in cool dry areas of your home. Garages are not a good idea! All other items CAN be returned. Must be returned to the council by Oct 31st in original condition. If you receive damage products, please contact Tom Jensen right away so we can straighten out the problem quickly. Do not be afraid to sell higher-end products. Remember, this is your SCOUTING UNIT FUNDRAISER. 4
5 Commission Structure and Incentives Earn the max commission possible by completely participating in the popcorn sale. The sales commission structure has been designed for you to have the best experience with popcorn as possible. STANDARD COMMISSION 33% Base Commission 2% Attends Council Kickoff Meeting 1% Scouts participate in Online sales. 2% Cash option. Take the extra commission instead of the prizes 38% Unit Commission Potential 2% New/First time unit commission bonus in addition to all other percentages! *All online sales will be given 40% commission automatically! A separate check will be sent to you. PRIZES AND INCENTIVES Prize program: Scouts can earn prizes from the Popcorn Prize program. The more you sell, the more you get! Refer to the prize sheet in the Take Order brochure. Earn all 5 patches and a Pin by selling different ways: Get a Patch for any item you sell, one for making a Military sale, one for making an Online sale, one for selling one of each products and one for selling over $650. You get a Top Seller s pin for being top in your unit, or selling over $1,000. $650 Club: Sell $650 from show and sell, take order and online sales and get a Radio Flyer Shockwave Scooter. $2500 in sells: 6% of the scouts gross sales are credited to Scout s Scholarship account for post-high school education or missionary fund. You only have to sell $2,500 one year to get an account, every year after that ALL sales whether it is above or below $2,500 goes towards your Fund! Example #1: A Scout sells $200 from Online sales, $350 from Show and Sell and $1,000 Take Order. He/She would get a choice from the Prize Level 8, the Scooter and at least two of the patches and pin! Example #2: A Scout sells combined Online, Show and Sell and Take Order, $3,000 in sales, s/he would get Prize level 10, a scooter, patches/pin and 6% of his sale ($180) for his Scholarship or missionary fund! 5
