How do you think the first disciples felt when Jesus asked them to follow him? Do you think it was easy for them to leave everything to follow Jesus? Are friends important? How are your friends special to you? Make a friendship card for a friend to let them know how special they are. The story of The Man Lowered Through the Roof Discussion about friendship. Write simple poems, modelled by teacher, about the sense of sight/ all the wonderful things we can see. Try to include descriptions and feelings. Why are our senses important? Why should we look after our bodies and our minds? The Ten Lepers Discuss what it is like to be ill and how pupils can get help from a doctor. Explain that there were few doctors in Jesus time and that people could not always be made better by a doctor. The men in the story had a skin disease that could not be healed and they had to go and live away from other people so that they did not spread the disease. Read the story from the Children s Bible. Discuss how only one of the men went back to thank Jesus. What can pupils learn from this? Would pupils have gone back and said thank you? Are there any other ways to show gratitude? Draw or write four ways of when and how to say thank you. One should be the example from the story. Who demonstrates care/love/concern for our children and how? How did Jesus show his care for others? How can you do the same? Easter-New Life and Changes Go on a spring walk and record signs of spring. Focus on new life and growth and life cycles.
