2 ATLANTA DREAM INTERNSHIP PROGRAM - OVERVIEW Internships with the Atlanta Dream provide opportunities to become familiar with the sports industry while actively contributing in key departments within a professional sports franchise. Each internship offers a challenging learning experience and promote greater understanding of sports business careers, highlight specific roles within the industry, and offer candidates with a valuable opportunity to network within the industry. Selected candidates will be notified two to three weeks after a deadline as to their status. The number and frequency of internships available varies from department to department. A department may be unable to offer an Internship for a particular semester, for varying reasons. Requirements: Fall and Spring Internship Interns must be available to work from 15 to 20 hours per week with flexible schedules. Interns will also be expected to attend various promotional events. Requirements: Summer Internship Interns must be available to work from 20 to 40 hours per week with flexible schedules. The typical Dream summer internship will last 12 to 20 weeks. Interns will also be expected to attend Dream games and various promotional events. Requirements: School Projects The Dream will work in conjunction with professors and internship advisors on specific project related internship opportunities. The hours required to complete the project and expectations will be determined on a project-by-project basis. Eligibility A candidate must be an undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing. All candidates must receive academic credit from their college or university. Graduate students are encouraged to apply. Internship applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. All internships are unpaid. 4 1- ADMINISTRATION The Atlanta Dream Administration Intern will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer. Assistance may include PTO tracking, new hire/termination procedures, and benefits administration. Provide assistance in the areas of personnel file maintenance, employee events and governmental compliance. Draft memos, new employee and service award bios. Conduct audits of personnel files and other Human Resources processes. Track employees' timely completion of required Human Resources forms and processes. Assist with various research projects and special projects. Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality of sensitive information. Assist with data entry, reports and organization. Providing administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer. Other duties as assigned. Human Resources major or minor preferred Prior administrative experience preferred Strong analytical skills Superior attention to detail and deadline orientation Ability to type, maintain confidentiality and maintain records and files Strong organizational skills Ability to work efficiently and multi-task under pressure Familiarity with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint 2- BASKETBALL OPERATIONS The Atlanta Dream Basketball Operations Interns will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day administrative operations including but not limited to assisting with all aspects of team travel, in-season housing and vehicles for team members, team ticket request, and team meals. Help maintain and update player personnel board. Serve as liaison between team and Social Responsibility staff. Assist Equipment Manager with all duties associated with department including: preparing lockers, washing/folding laundry, setting-up/breaking-down before and after practice and games, managing equipment inventory, packing equipment for road trips, and assisting at practice as needed. Work with visiting basketball teams to coordinate scheduling of practice times. Assist visiting teams with game day needs, such as pre-game meals. Assist with managing Atlanta Dream Ball Kid program. Assist with day to day operations of the video department including: equipment set up, camera operation during practice, workouts, and special assignments. Assist with scouting projects and gathering information on players/teams. 1

5 Assist with practice and workouts as needed. Provide administrative support to President/General Manager, coaches and staff as needed. Sports management/sports administration/exercise science/physical education major or minor preferred Desire to pursue a career in the sports industry Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Must be an effective communicator who can work efficiently in both independent and collaborative situations in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Ability to work on projects and maintain confidential information Willingness to work long hours Maintain professional image at all times. Working knowledge of XOs Technologies and/or Sportstec (both computer-based editing software), Synergy Sports, Fast Draw and Fast Scout preferred Knowledge of basketball preferred 3- BUSINESS OPERATIONS The Atlanta Dream Business Operations Intern will be responsible for assisting the Manager of Business Operations & Special Projects with day to day tasks and organizational projects/initiatives. Research quantitative and qualitative materials as it pertains to special projects and initiatives. Research & propose various processes, online tools, etc. that will allow us to operate more efficiently. Participate in development of marketing & advertising, public relations, interactive services, sales and branding initiatives. Assist in planning events for various programs and initiatives, including Dream Connect. Research, develop, and implement record management program. Assist Manager of Business Operations and President with daily administrative tasks and business operations. Create presentations for various business needs. Develop prospect lists and leads for specific partnership packages. Other duties as assigned. 6 4- CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS The Atlanta Dream Corporate Partnerships Intern will assist in the advancement and development of a comprehensive corporate partnership strategy designed to build long-term, multifaceted, collaborative partnerships with the local corporate community. The Corporate Partnership Intern will also assist the department in preparing proposals and disseminating information for current partners, conducting research, developing, preparing, updating, and coordinating materials for potential partners, and assist with event execution. Fulfill contractual elements of partners. Develop and maintain plans of action per partnership. Research and identify leads for the Corporate Partnership department. Build and maintain a professional lead contact database. Assist in the production of collateral / sales decks. Assist in the production of Dream recaps. Help with day of event activities when necessary. Create a photo database of partnership fulfillment items throughout the internship. Assist in managing department merchandise inventory. Assist department with the execution of partner events and marketing events when needed. Other duties as assigned. Must be a team player Basic knowledge of Photoshop and Prezi Able to interact with clients in a professional manner Highly, motivated, self-starter with a passion for working in sports Strong organizational and creative-thinking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work efficiently and multi-task under pressure Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and deadline orientation 5- CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP ACTIVATIONS The Atlanta Dream Corporate Partnership Activations Intern is responsible for supporting the Corporate Partnerships Activation team with all aspects of events, activities and activations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to client customer service, event coordination, research, sponsorship execution and fulfillment, building PowerPoint presentations, and designing collateral for sponsorship activations. Coordinate all signage and promotional assets on-site. Create and implement sponsorship activation play books following the Corporate Partnerships Department's processes and guidelines. Develop event recaps. 3

7 Provide detailed updates and reports on sponsorship assets, revenues, invoices, and inventory. Ability to be creative and give positive input in creating sponsorship proposals and activations. Coordinate sponsor event tickets including orders, ticket banks, and contracted ticket allotments. Monitors and tracks sponsors online deliverables with digital counterparts. Tracks timelines for partner social media activation in collaboration with the Marketing Department. Organizes on-boarding gifts/welcome documents and collateral for new partners. Display up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, activation best practices and digital marketing. Provide high level of service during events to include Atlanta Dream games and community events. Other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned. Strong organizational and problem solving skills Ability to multi-task in fast-paced client-service environment while meeting deadlines Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills Demonstrated ability to manage and cultivate relationships Be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Knowledge of and passion for Dream/WNBA preferred 6- DIGITAL CONTENT The Atlanta Dream Digital Content Intern will be responsible for keeping the website content up to date by incorporating blogs, newsletters, and other tools to encourage fans to return to the site multiple times. Write copy for our website that highlight our digital content. Monitoring the website to ensure content is up to date and relevant. Working with other departments to maintain their sections of the website. Curate, research, design, and write blog posts on topics relevant to the readership. Round up news about our projects and partnerships for subscribers. Conduct interviews and write articles for our electronic magazine. Assist in producing content for social media, message boards, and live chats. Write press releases as the company launches new campaigns and initiatives. Work all home games, assisting with credential distribution and post-game interviews and content for website, among other duties. 8 7- DIGITAL MEDIA The Atlanta Dream Digital Media Intern will be responsible for assisting the Coordinator of Digital Media with day to day tasks and organizational projects/initiatives. The Atlanta Dream Digital Media Internship is a hands-on program designed to develop digital media professionals in the sports industry. Assist the Coordinator of Digital Media with the daily management of content for the organization s social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram. Aid with videography, photography, and graphic design duties. Assist Coordinator of Digital Media with daily administrative tasks and business operations. Post content to social media platforms Other duties as assigned. Undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite or Creative Cloud (namely Photoshop and Premiere) Basic video/photography production skills (camera operation, logging, setup and editing) Above average fluency in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram strategy and their analytics. Detail-oriented, organized, reliable, proactive, resourceful, creative and good with time management Able to interact with clients in a professional manner Highly, motivated, self-starter with a passion for working in sports Strong organizational and creative-thinking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work efficiently and multi-task under pressure Ability to solve problems with little supervision Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and deadline orientation 8- EVENTS/MARKETING The Atlanta Dream Events/Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting with advertising, database marketing and event coordination. Assist with the organization of events. Assist in planning various grassroots marketing activities in order to drive ticket sales and brand awareness. Assist in managing the day to day operation of Dream retail function including inventory, fulfilling orders, purchasing and creating online promotions. Assist with the planning of appearances and activities for Dream mascot and entertainment groups. Research and analyze the market. Attending and staffing outside events. Assist in developing marketing materials for season. 5

Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements. Assist with the setup and management of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable electronic filing system. Prepare monthly account reconciliations. Assist with invoicing and collection of sponsorship payments. Track sponsorship fulfillment expenses. Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process. Assist in team financial reporting including team projections. Other duties as assigned. Completion of university courses in accounting, economics or finance highly preferred. 10 10- GAME OPERATIONS The Atlanta Dream provide a fun and exciting game day experience to our fans. The game operations intern is an integral part of making the game day experience a success. They will be responsible for on-court promotions and in-arena activities, pre-game set-up and execution as well as other game day duties. Communicate and coordinate with outside vendors and talent. Assist with PA script edits and updates. Assist in game day arena preparation, including promotion set-up and inventory. Prepare and maintain game day forms. Act as liaison between Philips Arena and Atlanta Dream. Prepare arena and check court prior to team arrival, including sign posting in locker rooms, in-arena and concourse. Review game script with Philips Arena A/V team. Coordinate talent rehearsals (i.e. Shooting Stars, National Anthem Singers, halftime act). Produce/direct game, as well as any post-game activities. Other duties as assigned. Detail-oriented, organized, reliable, proactive, resourceful, creative and good with time management Ability to lift 50 pounds. The Graphic Design Intern will gain experience creating compelling marketing and promotional materials, including print, web, internal and external publications and promotional items in a fast-paced professional environment. Assist with creation of collateral including flyers, signage, schedules, print advertisements, splash pages, while following brand guidelines. Develop cohesive design solutions for both print and web applications. Use production techniques such as color correcting and create clipping paths to prepare files. Assist with editing and creating graphics for website. 7

The Public Relations Intern will gain experience in publicizing the events of the organization, including aggressively promoting the organization's off-court initiatives. Write feature stories, blogs, press releases, and event pages. Assist with the production of press kits and marketing collateral. Monitor and record local media coverage. Update media lists, assemble clip books. Research industry trends and assist with planning public relations initiatives for the Dream. Maintain firm's website content throughout the season by writing blogs. Involvement in organization and selection of photos for department use from both games and offcourt events. Work all home games, assisting with credential distribution and post-game interviews, among other duties. Other duties as assigned. 12 13- SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY The Atlanta Dream Social Responsibility Intern will serve as support and administrator for the development and execution of day to day and long-term social responsibility initiatives. The Social Responsibility Intern will have the opportunity to help plan and execute major fundraisers and events, develop and maintain community partnerships, fulfill community donation requests and coordinate Atlanta Dream appearances. Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of all social responsibility programs and events. Attend all Atlanta Dream home games to help with the implementation of programs. Assist with player, staff, and mascot requests and autograph sessions. Coordinate ticket distribution program through outreach to non-profit organizations and community groups. Assist with in-arena activities such as meet and greets, VIP game-day experiences, game-day presentations, etc. Conduct research with respect to other social responsibility programs, and provide a summary of findings. Maintain inventory for all memorabilia and promotional items. Assist with Dream Pink auction and other event duties as required. Maintain various foundation/organization databases and mailing lists. The Ticket Sales and Services Intern will gain vital experience in assisting the sales team in all aspects of selling, fulfilling and executing sales initiatives. Coordinate & execute various projects associated with growing our Group & Dream Elite Member database. Assist in planning and executing various grassroots marketing activities with ticket department in order to drive ticket sales and brand awareness. Set up and transport various Atlanta Dream products and materials to and from events, festivals, tournaments, leagues, etc. Aid staff in administrative duties. Raise fan support and Dream ticket sales through lead generation, cold calls, and events. 9

13 Research trends around the WNBA, NBA, and other professional sports leagues Create and implement strategies to prospect, develop, and grow ticket sales opportunities and ideas. Work with Ticket Sales department in implementation of marketing plans designed to reach particular groups and demographics. Create lead generation through creative ideas of prospective clients, working with assigned sales reps and their categories for groups and overall season. This individual will provide a full-range of video, audio & editing support from concept to post-production. Assist in video shoots. Film, process, cut & edit video from raw files to finished work using computer software. Capture digital video utilizing video cameras, lighting sets, green screens and audio equipment. Create and implement motion graphics using computer software. Produce video content in support of branding, sales & marketing & promotions. Distribute video via Internet through Dream website, DreamTV, Youtube, Vimeo & other outlets. Assist with design & production of LED graphics & video features for in-game use. Organize and archive video assets. Perform routine CD/DVD assembly, duplication and distribution. Assist with broadcast team preproduction. Demonstrated knowledge of video software required (i.e. Final Cut Pro) Knowledge of basic lighting techniques Knowledge of post-production editing software (ex. 14 16- WEB EDITING/CONTENT The Atlanta Dream Web Editing/Content Intern will assist the organization with writing and reporting on the Dream; content and design updating for Atlantadream.net; conducting and transcribing interviews; working Dream home games; shooting photos/video and editing for website; and assisting with other projects as needed. Implement updates/changes to websites, using WNBA content management system. Write and edit daily articles and postgame stories for the websites. Shoot photos/videos during practice, shoot-arounds and throughout games. Edit/Upload video for DreamTV and Dream Around The Rim. Construct/edit online photo galleries; resize/compress photos for websites. Create and maintain Atlanta Dream blog. Work all home games, assisting with credential distribution and updating and providing content for website during and after games, among other duties.
