3 Some Important Information Federal Government described Bullying as a major health issue. One half of all students in the U.S. are bullied. 1 in 5 are bullied on a regular basis Children ages 8 to 15 yrs/old rank bullying as more of a problem then peer pressure for alcohol/drugs or sex. 3
4 We define bullying as An imbalance of power between 2 or more individuals The aggressive use of words or actions that are intended to hurt, frighten, threaten or harm Behavior that is repeated over time

10 St. Monica's survey results Survey taken in May 2008 Grades 3-7 Includes 210 students Surveys were anonymous Friendship 98% reported having at least 1 good friend 94% reported having at least 2 good friends 74.3% of our students reported having been bullied at least once in the past 3 months 58.6% reported being teased at least once 51.9% reported being excluded at least once 47.6% reported having rumors spread about them at least once
11 Rules Against Bullying 1. We do not bully others. Let love be sincere, hate what is evil, hold on to what is good. Romans 12:9 2. We help students who are bullied. When two or more of you are gathered in my name, so am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20
