2 4.1 Types of dresses Senior Section Ceremonial Senior Section Day Dress Senior Section Mufti 4.2 Uniform Details Shirt Navy Blue colored with Military Cutting: Navy Blue Buttons Selvage Strip Two Breast Pockets with Buttoned Flaps Two Epaulettes No pleats running along the back of the shirt The design of the shirt for both boys and girls are identical. 3 Selvage Strip The width of the selvage strip is 1 1/4 inches as detailed. Note that all buttons are white. Epaulette As detailed. Note that all buttons are white. The epaulette's length shall vary according to the breath of an individual's shoulder (i.e. it may be longer or shorter than the illustrated 4 inches) Breast Pockets Details as shown. Note that the buttons are white. Shoulder Flash The Shoulder Flash with the words BRIGED PUTERA MALAYSIA are to be sewn on both sleeves 3/4" from the epaulette and centred with it. Sleeves 1. Long sleeves are to be worn for Ceremonial Dress only. 2. Short sleeves will be worn for Day Dress only. Long sleeves shall be folded to the elbow. The folding shall be 1.5 inches or three-finger width. * Please note that all buttons are navy blue in colour T-Shirt Company T-Shirts are to be worn strictly on Company events as a part of mufti. 4 20mm They may also be worn on other functions when specifically requested. On other combined Company events organised by the Division, State or National, where mufti is required, only a standard BB T-Shirt shall be worn. Name Tag Black letters on a white plastic background with its dimensions as detailed. It shall be worn one finger's breadth above the left breast pocket of the uniform. 70mm for boys The boy or girl's name shall be engraved as per the following requirements: a) Initials of name followed by the surname eg. S.A. RAVI or K.Y. THONG 70mm for girls 20mm b) Christian name to precede the initials and surname eg. DAVID BOEY c) An asterisk (*) to precede the name for girls Lanyard (White Colour) The lanyard shall be worn over the left shoulder with its loop placed under the left epaulette. The end of the lanyard shall be fastened to the side of the left breast pocket. The lanyard should not dangle for more than 1" breath below the breast pocket. A standard whistle shall be fastened to the end of the lanyard. Neck Tie Sky blue colour of plain design. The necktie shall only be worn with Ceremonial.No BB Tie Clip is allowed when in uniform The tip of the tie shall not cover the belt buckle upon wearing. 5 Trousers For boys, the long trousers shall be navy blue colour with two side pockets and one back pocket with no flap. Only straight cut trousers without pleats are authorised. For girls, the long trousers shall be the same as the boys' except that the maximum of 2 stitched cuts (non-pleated) in the front and the back may be allowed to suit the shape. Belt Brown or black leather belt with 2 runners and a brass buckle embossed with a BB logo. The belt is worn tightly around the waist with the buckle in the centre and it's two runners placed as far apart as possible. Haversack The white haversack is worn tightly over the right shoulder under the right epaulette, passing under the belt on the left side. The pouch rests on the left hip. A brass button is fastened to the pouch. Field Service Cap inside the field service cap It shall be worn slightly tilted to the right side of the head with one finger distance from the right ear and two fingers distance from the eyebrow.. One's hair should be concealed from the forehead. Footwear Navy blue, socks of plain design. Plain black leather shoes or boots with laces. BBM Uniform Manual Seniors (March 2005) 4 of 8

6 4.3 Assembling the Haversack Assembling the Haversack Haversack Metal Parts The metal parts of the haversack needed for the assembly of the haversack are: 1. Loop 2. Slide 3. Brass Button 4. Split Hook Method of Assembling a Haversack Insert the longer strap of the haversack into the slide and pull the slide to the center of the strap. (see left diagram) Now continue to insert the remaining edge of the strap into the loop. If the strap is not too long, secure the edge by attaching the Velcro around the loop and secure it at the slide (see left diagram) To complete the assembly, insert the Velcro edge of the strap around the center bar of the slide and secure (see left diagram). The brass button and split hook are fastened on the pouch. The haversack can then be adjusted by pulling the slide up and down. BBM Uniform Manual Seniors (March 2005) 5 of 8

7 4.4 Wearing the Awards Right Arm Achievement badges and the Target badge are to be worn on an armlet if possible. NCOs will wear their badges on their Chevrons (photograph shows badges on a Chevron) Badges shall be worn in this sequence: 1. The Target Badge shall be the first badge worn on the top row. (left most side) 2. It will be subsequently followed by other Proficiency badges in alphabetical order with not more than five badges in a row. Left Arm The Founder's Badge shall be worn centered below the Shoulder Flash, followed by the President's Badge (left side) and Junior Gold Award (right side) placed side by side in the next row. The Scholastic Badges are to be worn in a row below the President's Badge with the Gold Scholastics Badge on the left most side and subsequently in descending order. The NCO Proficiency Star shall be worn right in the middle of the row below the Scholastic Badges with the Long Years' Service and Three Year Service Badges flanking it on the left and right respectively. The Junior Service Badge shall occupy the left most side of the row below with the One Year Service badges worn in a row continuously. Link Badge The Link Badge, awarded to juniors who have passed a prescribed test and transferred to the Senior Section, shall be worn just slightly above the name tag.
