21 Solaris provides a couple of key advantages over any other OS. One is just the base reliability of the operating system with storage, things like retrying I/Os. But on top of that there s two key technologies that, frankly, you can t get anywhere else That s MPXIO for multipath I/O and the other is ZFS. 41 In 11 years of managing storage arrays, I've never had so much detailed information about exactly what is going on inside the storage system aside from how many IOPS.
