3 YOUR TRIP TO THE CUT-YOUR-OWN CHRISTMAS TREE FARM There s nothing like going directly to the farm and cutting down your own tree. You won t get a tree any fresher, and you have the pick of the litter! It can be a memorable family adventure out in the country, so be sure to bring your camera! When visiting our farm, we will supply you with a hand saw, especially made for cutting down Christmas trees (feel welcome to bring your own chainsaw if you prefer). We allow you to drive to the field, select your own tree, and cut down your own tree. Twine (rope) is available at the office or house for you to tie your tree onto your vehicle. If you are unable to tie the tree on yourself, we will be glad to assist you. Be sure to tie the tree on top of your vehicle with the butt of the tree facing forward to prevent damage to the tree during the trip home. At both the office and the house, we have additional branches in bundles along with wreaths and white pine roping for your decorating needs! Tree stands and tree disposal bags are also available at a minimal cost. When you get your tree home, be sure to make a fresh cut on the base of the trunk. Put the tree into fresh, cold water immediately. Fresh trees can use about 1 quart of water per inch of trunk diameter per day. Do not let the tree stand become completely dry, as it will inhibit the uptake of water for your tree. Be sure to keep your tree away from any direct heat source to keep it from drying out! 3
4 CHRISTMAS TREE LOTS 2010 Can t make it to one of the Christmas Tree farms this year to cut down your own tree? Don t worry, we also have conveniently located Christmas tree lots with our freshly cut trees available for purchase! Each tree is individually priced on the lots, and does not follow the cutyour-own price list. Each lot will have a large selection of different varieties as well as sizes of Christmas Trees. Wreaths, roping, bundles, and B& B trees will also be available on each tree lot. If you require an extra tall tree, call the main nursery (419) to check for availability on the lot. Hours on the lots are from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. CHRISTMAS TREE LOT LOCATIONS 1438 Lexington Avenue Mansfield, OH 2131 Park Avenue West Mansfield, OH 40 Morse Road Columbus, OH 4
