2 OKEMOS SPORTS OKEMOS BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: 1ST 8TH GRADE 1ST AND 2ND GRADE BASEBALL Season: May 3 - June 30 This coach-pitch developmental league is designed to teach and reinforce fundamentals. Practices start May 3 and the 8-10 game season starts May 17, with an occasional Friday practice/game. Games and practices are played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Price includes a hat, pants, and socks. 1ST AND 2ND GRADE SOFTBALL March4 This coach-pitch developmental league is designed to teach and reinforce fundamentals. Practices start May 2 and the 8-10 game season start May 18 with occasional Friday practice/ game. Games and practices are played on Mondays and Wednesdays. Price includes a hat, pants, and socks. 3RD AND 4TH GRADE BASEBALL This program utilizes a combination of coach pitch and player pitch. Practices start May 2, twice per week, and the 8-10 game season start May 16 with occasional Friday practice/games. Games are played on Mondays and Wednesdays. Price includes a hat, pants, and socks. U10 SOFTBALL Season: May 2 - July 8 All players must be 10 or under as of January 1, Players in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will be introduced to player-pitch in the Mason Pony League or the in-house league which includes teams from Haslett, Okemos and Williamston. Practices start week of May 2, twice a week, and the 10-game season start May 9. Price includes a hat, pants, and socks. U12 BASEBALL Season: April 11 - July 1 $130 All players must be 12 or under as of April 30, Teams will on teams regardless of ability. Practices start week of April 11, twice a week, and the 12-game season starts the week of May 2. Price includes full uniform. U14 BASEBALL Season: April 11 - July 1 $140 All players must be 14 or under as of April 30, Teams will on teams regardless of ability and will play in the recreation division to compete with other teams from surrounding communities. Practices start week of April 11, twice a week and the 12-game season starts the week of May 2. Price includes full uniform. U12 GIRLS SOFTBALL Season: May 9 - mid-july $130 All players must be 12 or under as of January 1, Teams will compete in the Mason Pony Softball League. All players will be placed on teams regardless of ability and will compete with teams from surrounding communities. Practices start week of May 9 and games begin the week of June 6. Price includes full uniform. U14 GIRLS SOFTBALL Season: May 2 - mid-july $14 All players must be 14 or under as of January 1, Teams will compete in the Delhi Township U-14 league. All players will be placed on teams regardless of ability and will compete with teams from surrounding communities. Practices start week of May 2 and games begin week of June 6. 3 OKEMOS SPORTS FALL OKEMOS K - 8TH GRADE BOYS & GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL Dates: September 6 October 30 Games: Sunday afternoons; beginning September 18 (9-week season) K - 3rd grade: Games at Nancy Moore Park 4th - 8th grade: Games at Kinawa Middle School Prices: $60 / K - 3rd grades $65 / 4th - 6th grades/officiated August 19 This 5 versus 5 flag football format provides exciting action and increased scoring opportunities. Teams practice once per week beginning the week of September 6 (times TBA by coaches). OKEMOS SOCCER: KINDERGARTEN 8TH GRADE KINDERGARTEN - 1ST GRADE BOYS AND GIRLS FALL AND SPRING SOCCER 2016 Spring Season Dates: April 11 May 21 February 19 $45 FULL SEASON Fall 2016 /Spring 2017 Fall Season/2016: September 6 October 22, 2016 Spring Season/2017: April 10 May 20, 2017 July 15 $70 The Kindergarten and 1st grade programs goals are to teach the sports fundamentals to all ability levels while having fun. Children are assigned to teams (NOT CO-ED) that practice at most once per week with games on Saturdays. The FULL soccer season is 6 weeks in the Fall (September - October) and 5 weeks in the Spring (April - May). Officials are not used for this age group as volunteer coaches are teaching and directing players on the field during the game. OKEMOS EASTSIDE 2ND - 8TH GRADE BOYS AND GIRLS FALL AND SPRING SOCCER LEAGUES 2016 Spring Season Dates: April 11 - May 21 February 19 $50 FULL SEASON Fall 2016 /Spring 2017 Fall Season/2016: September 6 - October 22, 2016 Spring Season/2017: April 10 May 20, 2017 July 15 $90 The Okemos/Eastside Soccer Program provides boys and girls the opportunity to learn and play soccer in a recreational setting against other local communities. The FULL soccer season consists of fall (September October 2016) and spring (April May 2017). Teams practice two times during the week with games played on Saturday mornings. 4 HASLETT SPORTS HASLETT BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: K-8TH GRADE HASLETT KINDERGARTEN T-BALL LEAGUE Season: April 11 - May 25 $40 Players are divided into teams that require a head and assistant coach. The season will begin with two practices a week starting the week of April 11 followed by a 7-game schedule starting April 25 with practice on Mondays and games on Wednesdays. 1ST AND 2ND GRADE BASEBALL Season: May 3 - June 30 This coach-pitch developmental league is designed to teach and re-inforce fundamentals. 5 HASLETT SPORTS HASLETT BOYS AND GIRLS FALL SOCCER KINDERGARTEN SOCCER Date: September 6 - October 29 $45 August 5 This program focuses on fundamental skill development and fun. Teams (not co-ed) have two practices before the start of the season with games beginning September 17. Teams meet for 20 minutes of instruction and 40 minutes of play on Saturday mornings for six (6) weeks. No weekday practices once games begin. 1ST GRADE SOCCER Date: September 6 - October 29 $45 August 5 4 on 4 teams (not co-ed) practice once per week starting the week of September 6 (times TBA by coaches), with games on Saturday mornings beginning September 17 for six (6) weeks. HASLETT FALL FLAG FOOTBALL K - 6TH GRADE BOYS AND GIRLS FALL FLAG FOOTBALL: Dates: September 6 October 30 Prices: $45 / K - 3rd grades $60 / 4th - 6th grades/officiated August 5 Teams practice once/twice per week beginning the week of September 6 (times TBA by coaches), with games on Sunday afternoons, beginning September 18 for seven (7) weeks HASLETT K-6TH GRADE BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL 4TH - 6TH GRADE Date: November 28 March 4 October 28, th - 6th Grade Basketball Leagues are operated in partnership with the Okemos and East Lansing Recreation Leagues. Practices begin the week of November 28. KINDERGARTEN AND 1ST GRADE Date: January 7 February 4, 2017 $45 December 2, 2016 The Kindergarten and 1st Grade programs are taught by Mike Devlin, Meridian Township Parks & Recreation Specialist, with parent participation. It includes five (5) 1-hour sessions, Saturday mornings, beginning January 7. 2ND AND 3RD GRADE Date: January 9 March 4, 2017 $50 December 2, 2016 The 2nd & 3rd grade program combines weekly practice, starting the week of January 9, with games on Saturday mornings, starting January 14, for seven (7) games (no games on February 11). 19
