1 1) Rules and Regulations for Underarm Cricket Competition 1. A game will consist of one inning per team and each inning would consist of 5 overs. 2. Each team will have 6 players. No team will be allowed to play with less than six players. 3. The team will have to be present in the ground 15 mins before the scheduled game. For every 10 mins delay from the scheduled time, 10 runs will be given to the opponent. 4. Each player can bowl maximum of 1 over. 5. No ball will not be counted but for each no ball 2 runs will be given to opponent. 6. Wide ball will not be counted but for each wide ball 2 runs will be given to opponent. 7. The ball must not bounce more than once when pitched or otherwise it will be a no ball and 2 runs will be given to the batsman. 8. If the ball hits directly over the boundary it will be treated as an out. 9. Rules for Bowled, caught out, run out, hit wicket, leg before wicket & stumped out shall be the same as traditional cricket. 10. If the batsman "hits" the ball twice, he is out. 11. Basic dress code same as traditional cricket. 12. They are laid out below in the order that the speakers will speak. 1st Affirmative Must: - define the topic. - present the affirmative's team line. - outline briefly what each speaker in their team will talk about. - present the first half of the affirmative case. 1st Negative Must: - accept or reject the definition. If you don't do this it is assumed that you accept the definition. - present the negative team line. - outline briefly what each of the negative speakers will say. - rebut a few of the main points of the first affirmative speaker. - the 1st negative should spend about one quarter of their time rebutting. - present the first half of the negative team's case. 2nd Affirmative Must: - reaffirm the affimative's team line.

Neither third speaker may introduce any new parts of their team's cases. 3) Rules and Regulations for Business Essay Writing Competition CII-SNCEL's writing competition invites you to answer the Questions: 1. How can the Youth of India provide leadership to change the country? 2. What qualities of Leadership are required in the Leaders of tomorrow and how do we inculcate these? 3. What are the Leadership challenges for the present generation and what are their shortcomings? 1. Submissions will be accepted until November 16th, 2012 at 11:00 PM IST. 2. Submissions need to be made in English and may not be longer than 1000 words 3. Submissions require to be accompanied with a non-refundable cheque of Rs.100/= INR 4. A summary is required of no more than 100 words. The summary will be used by the jury to create a shortlist of finalists 5. Essays are only accepted in.doc format. 6. No penalty for incorrect English, unless your idea is not understandable 7. All submissions can be made online via the CII-SNCEL s address ciileadership@cii.in and carrying Stories of the Future in the Subject Line. The submission fee requires to be remitted via courier beforehand for online submissions to be considered. 8. All submissions will be blind reviewed. 9. Quotes and references must be clearly marked throughout the essay and properly cited. 10. All submissions must be original. No previously published material will be accepted. Any form of plagiarism, harmful, derogatory or illegal sentiments will result in automatic disqualification. 4) Rules and Regulations Business Plan competition CII-Suresh Neotia Center of Excellence for Leadership, Kolkata, invites applications from 1st and 2nd year MBA students for Business Plan competition to be held on 18 th -19 th December The students can send business plan individually or in groups (the group should consist of not more than 3 candidates). The proposals will be initially reviewed by a panel and the short listed candidates/groups will be intimated to present their proposals in front of the panelists. The presentation should not be more than 10 minutes for each individual/group followed by questions and answers. The last day for submission of business plan is 15 th November Each entry will be charged a fee of Rs.500/-. The three best entries, as decided by the panelists, will be awarded a prize and a certificate and an opportunity to liaise with the bankers and the venture capitalists to take their proposal further if they want to. The format given below will be strictly adhered to while submitting the business plan. The plan will be submitted in A4 size paper duly typed in Verdana font size 9 with single space between lines.

3 5) Rules and Regulations for Chess Competition The Competition shall be guided by the FIDE Laws of Chess. If you touch a piece, you must move it. This is known as the touch-move rule, and is often a source of difficulty for players new to tournaments. It also requires you to capture an opponent s piece if you touch it. This rule only applies if you can make a legal move with the piece you touched. There are some exceptions. If you accidentally brush a piece, you are not required to move it. If a piece is awkwardly placed, you can adjust it; simply say I adjust before touching the piece to make it clear to your opponent that you don t intend to move it. Most tournaments require players to record their moves. This helps provide evidence of what has occurred during the game in case of a dispute. In order to record your game, you will need to learn how to read and write chess notation. Never interfere with a game in progress. In most chess tournaments, you ll be able to walk around the playing area and watch other games, provided you do so quietly. Observers are forbidden from telling players anything about their games, even if they notice a violation of the rules. Turn off your cell phone. In recent years, new rules have been written to deal with loud phones, which can break the concentration of chess players. If your phone rings in the playing area, you will likely be subject to a penalty, and may even have to forfeit your game. Understand how to use a chess clock. Tournament chess is played with time limits, which vary by event. Time is kept by using a chess clock. Using these clocks can be distracting at first, but will soon become second nature. Most importantly, remember to hit your clock after each move you make this stops your clock and starts your opponent s time. Also, be sure to use the same hand to move your pieces and touch the clock. After the game is over, record your result. Win, lose, or draw, both players are required to make sure the proper result is recorded. If you re not sure where to mark down your result, ask a director for help. 6) Rules and Regulations for Quiz Competition 1. Only team entries are eligible. 2. A team shall consist of max 3 persons 3. The decision of the quiz-master will be final and will not be subjected to any change. 4. The participants shall not be allowed to use mobile or other electronic instruments. 5. The questions shall be in the form of multiple choice, True / False statement, Specificanswer question etc. 6. Audience shall not give any hints or clues to the competitors. 7. Replacement of any participant of a team is not allowed after registration 8. Teams selected for the final rounds will be allowed to give themselves an appropriate name related to the competition by which they may want to be known 7) Rules and Regulations for Sit-and-Draw CII-SNCEL invites participation from children aged 4ears to 18years in the Sit & Draw Competition to be held on the 18 th & 19 th of December 2012 Rules 1. Application Form will be issued and received at the CII-SNCEL 2. Participants will have to bring all materials necessary for drawing except the paper. 3. Participants will have to carry the invitation card with them. 4. Guardians will not be allowed inside the competition enclosure.. 5. The competition will be of two hours' duration. 6. Participants will not be allowed to enter after 15 minutes from the start. 7. Proof of age must be produced to the organizers. 8. The decision of the panel of selected judges, will be final. 9. Prize distribution ceremony will be held the same day after event completion. 10. The organisers will not have any responsibility if the participants fail to collect the prizes 11. Participants will have to report before one hour from the schedule time. 1. The competition will be divided in 5 groups:

All entries to be submitted by 14th December ) Rules and Regulations for the Skits Competition 1. Each team should have a theme for their sequence. 2. Number of participants per team should be from 3 to Time limit for each team is limited to a maximum of 10 minutes. 4. The stage should not remain empty for more than 2 minutes in between the sequences. 5. Playback or recorded music of any kind is not allowed. 6. Microphones will be provided. 7. Language of the play can be English\Hindi. 8. Any form of obscenity will result in debarring the team from further participation. 9) Rules and Regulations for Battle of the Band Competition Event Structure: Band Limit: 16 Bands Format: Band Boil-Off Band Requirements: Guitar (Required) Drums (Required) Bass (Optional) Vocals (Optional) Bands are allowed to have a band member sing and play and instrument at the same time. (microphone stands will be provided) Mode: Band Quick Play Modifiers: No Fail will be enabled Difficulty: Each band member s choice Song Pick: Band picks one song. (See below) A song may only be played by one band in the tournament. Song picking for the first round is based on first come first serve. Scoring: The band will receive a score based on how well they did relative to the highest score

5 Boil-Off: The first round will determine the top 8 teams which will compete in round 2. In the subsequent round, 6 teams will be eliminated. Restrictions: All instruments (including mic stand) will be provided; however, players may use their own controllers if approved before hand by the administrators and must be tagged at the event entrance. o Guitar mods are not allowed. No homemade overdrive/star power buttons/pedals allowed. o Drummers are encouraged to bring their own Bass Drum Pedal and Drumsticks. Downloadable Content (DLC) will not be allowed. 10) Rules and Regulations for Fancy Dress Competition 1. The child s name requires to be registered 2. Safety precautions require to be maintained 3. Prizes will be awarded on ingenuity 4. Judgement of the jury is final 5. Points shall be awarded on discipline 6. Dress and acting the part will be considered for the Team 7.
