5 frequently asked questions CAN WE HOLD OUR MELBOURNE ZOO PARTY DURING THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS? Absolutely! The Growing Wild room (additional $ hire fee) is not available during weekdays though. CAN WE BRING OUR OWN BIRTHDAY CAKE? Yes, we just need you to sign our cake indemnity form-please speak to your Event Coordinator. If you would like us to cut and serve your cake a $2.00 per person fee applies. IS THERE OTHER ENTERTAINMENT WE CAN BOOK FOR THESE SPACES? Yes. You can book additional entertainment through us such as a magician, fairy, temporary tattooist, face painter plus others or you can bring your own. Speak to your Event Coordinator for more ideas. DOES THE ZOO TAKE TOURS? The zoo doesn t run tours but they do have fantastic free keeper talks scheduled throughout the day. Please refer to their website for further details, no bookings are required: CAN WE TOUCH/HOLD ANY OF THE ZOO ANIMALS? We don t offer an animal experience during the party but please consider booking your party in conjunction with one of the zoo s Close-Up Encounters : ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL ANIMAL EXPERIENCES WE CAN HAVE WITH OUR PARTY? You can attend one of the zoo s free keeper talks scheduled during the day or book your party in conjunction with one of the zoo s Close Up Encounters : DO YOU CATER FOR SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS OR ALLERGIES? We cater for special dietary requirements and allergies or intolerances as best as possible. Please note that our kitchen is a shared environment and is not free of peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, dairy, eggs and other allergens. Please speak to your Event Coordinator if you have special dietary requirements and we ask for as much notice as possible (at least 72 hours) to accommodate them. CAN WE BRING DECORATIONS? The zoo does not allow balloons, streamers, confetti, or smoke machines outside. Please speak to your Event Coordinator if you have something specific you would like to bring for decoration. PAGE 5
