Now with our improved birthday party options you can! Come celebrate your child s birthday by booking one of our exciting new birthday programs where you get to create your own one-of-a-kind experience. With your help, we ve revamped, refreshed and added to our birthday party options to better suit your individual needs and wishes, allowing you the freedom to choose exactly how you want to celebrate your special occasion. What you ll get We ve switched things up with the help of your input so now each birthday party will consist of: A completely unique, fun filled one and a half hour zoo-themed birthday party, hosted by one of our education zoo staff members. Admission for 25 people to the zoo, for you and your guests, and the ability to enter and enjoy the zoo before your time in the classroom. A complimentary wagon rental. A Calgary Zoo gift card for the birthday child to use in the gift shop, concessions or towards a membership or any of the cool programs offered by the zoo. How it works Step One: Pick a half hour zoo-themed base birthday party determined by age: Ages 3-5 All About Zoo Babies! (requires minimum 1 adult for every 2 children) Ages 6-8 Super Heroes of the Animal Kingdom (requires minimum 1 adult for every 4 children) Ages 9+ Zoo Keeper Quest (requires minimum 1 adult for every 4 children) Each birthday will be separated into three segments, with your very own dedicated education staff member to guide you through them all. You ll start your program with a fun and interactive activity themed half hour then the next two segments of the program are up to you! Step Two: Choose two from a variety of exciting and entertaining activities personalized to match the theme of your party. (Each activity takes half an hour) Games Craft Tour Cake and presents with your group Food Catering options available Bonus Activity: Want more time to party? Choose to add an additional half hour to your party (only available with 1:30pm timeslot) for an additional $75.00 and select a third activity from the list above. Eco-Lab classroom Little Dipper classroom Prehistoric Park classroom How to Book We are in the process of moving our bookings online! In the meantime, please contact us at birthdays@calgaryzoo.com with your preferred date, time and room, as well as the age your child will be turning and we will send a reply to confirm your spot. Once our new booking system is up and running we will contact you to complete the booking process with payment information and your choices of activities and add-ons. 5 Birthday Party FAQ s Does the 25 guests include the birthday child and/or adults? Yes, the 25 guests included in the price is the total number, including the birthday child, siblings, parents, adults and children (children two years and under are free). Can we bring more than 25 guests? Due to the space available as well as Health & Safety concerns, birthday parties are limited to 25 guests. What if some of the guests have zoo passes? Birthday parties are sold as a group package, and the price is not affected if some of the guests have passes or memberships as passes or memberships do not include access to birthday parties. Does the party include any behind-the-scenes or animal encounters? Birthday parties do not include any behind-the-scenes access or animal encounters at this time. When can we book? Birthday parties can be booked up to three months in advance and must be booked a minimum of two weeks in advance. Can we book a party for a child turning 1 or 2? We are not able to accommodate birthday parties for children turning ages 1 and 2 at this time. What about winter birthdays? Our birthday party programs run Saturdays and Sundays year-round! Although it might be cold outside we still have lots of indoor activities to keep everyone edu-tained. Winter parties could still include a tour and some outdoor activity so we recommend that all guests dress weatherappropriate. Where do guests park? Birthday party attendees should park in the North Parking lot and enter through the North Entrance. Please note that parking is not included in your birthday party package; the cost is $10 per vehicle. Parking can be paid for upon arrival or departure from the zoo. Any attendees with an Engage or Inspire membership may use their pass for parking access.

6 May we bring our own food? No outside food is permitted except birthday cake or cupcakes. In order to make the most of your time in the party room, if you have not selected the Cake/Presents activity then you will be required to do cake on grounds (outside of the room) after the party has concluded. Please note that we do not have refrigeration facilities available for use in our party rooms so cake must be able to withstand room temperature. What is your cancellation policy? Your booking fee includes a non-refundable $50.00 processing fee. If you cancel three weeks or more prior to the party, the balance will be refunded to your credit card. If you cancel within three weeks of the party there is no refund. Can I change the date/time once I have already booked? There will be a $50.00 administration fee to change the date or time of your party. Can we come in early or stay at the zoo after the party? Yes, your birthday party package includes admission to the zoo for you and your guests. You may enter the zoo before the party and/or stay after the party to enjoy the zoo. Please note that you will not be able to access the party room before the party start time and you must take all belongings with you from the room at the end of the party. Can we bring decorations? We will supply a large Happy Birthday banner as well as tablecloths. You are welcome to bring additional decorations but none that need to be attached to the walls or ceiling. We are not able to permit early access to the party room so you will need to put up your decorations in the first few minutes of the party. Please note that balloons, piñatas, confetti and balls of any kind are not permitted on zoo grounds and are therefore not permitted in party rooms. What about Gift Bags? Calgary Zoo gift bags are available for $15 each, plus GST. Bags must be ordered at least one week before the party. Our birthday party gift bags include*: Calgary Zoo reusable water bottle Large sized lollipop stick Small stuffed animal *If an item is out of stock it will replaced with an item of equal value. If I purchase a membership after I ve purchased a birthday party will I still be eligible to receive the 10% member s discount? Unfortunately we are unable to apply the discount as all Calgary Zoo education programs require an active membership at the time of purchase in order to receive 10% off.
