Pedersen, DVM, PhD Dates: Saturday and Sunday, July 29 and 30 th, 2000 Location: University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine 170 Schalm Hall Davis, CA Registration: $100.00, limited to approximately 200 participants Website: conferences.ucdavis.edu Polycystic Kidney Disease Screening Clinic Monday, July 31, 2000 University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine Center for Companion Animal Health Ralston Purina, The Center for Companion Animal Health at the School of Veterinary Medicine, UCDavis, and the Winn Feline Health Foundation are co-sponsoring an International Conference on Feline Genetic Diseases for breeders, veterinarians, and other interested participants. The conference will held on Saturday, July 29 th at 8:00 AM through Sunday evening, July 30 th, 2000 at the UCDavis veterinary school. This conference will bring together the worlds leading authorities on feline inherited diseases to assist with collaborative research, dissemination of information and for the advancement of research and feline health. The feline conference will focus on inherited diseases found in felines, particularly, but not limited, to those found in fancy breed cats. Presentations will focus on the questions and concerns most relevant to breeders and veterinarians. A special workshop for breeders will focus on feline coat colors and we will have tours of the facilities and demonstrations of disease testing in cats. In addition to the conference, a Polycystic Kidney Disease Screening Clinic for cats will be held on Monday, July 31. This clinic will be free to cat breeders to have their cats screened for PKD. The clinic will also instruct veterinarians in ultrasound techniques, particularly of the
2 feline urinary tract, and both the conference and clinic will qualify as continuing education units. An additional fee will be charged to veterinarians for the instruction in ultrasound techniques. Dr. David Biller will be confirming the PKD diagnoses at the clinic and we will address counseling and management issues of the participants. Please see the website for updated information. The conference will be limited to approximately 200 participants. Registration will be $ A reception on Friday night, lunches, and a barbeque dinner is included in the registration fee. A late fee of $50.00 will be charged after July 21, Personal checks and VISA will be acceptable forms of payment.
