GENGIGEL PROF / GENGI Pro Gengigel is a patented line registered as a Class II B Medical Device in Europe and U.S. FDA approved NEW PROFESSIONAL LINE Products based on high-profile research that meet the everyday requirements of dentists The innovative solution for professional use of hyaluronic acid in dentistry Ricerfarma s researchers offer the professionals working in dental surgeries (dentists and dental hygienists) a line of products based on high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid for everyday use in a variety of dental applications: periodontics surgery of the oral cavity (at the pre-, intra-, peri- and post-operative stages) hygiene and prevention. This is a fully dedicated line because it is reserved for use by dentists and dental hygienists only, is simple and easy to use, and reduces the length of dental procedures, leading to a better use of time. A complete, differentiated line featuring a unique molecule with a high biotechnology content. Hyaluronic acid is the essential natural, physiological constituent of intact, healthy tissue of the oral cavity, a constituent of the extracellular connective matrix of the periodontal tissues and the main component of intercellular cement and the capillary walls. It is present in healthy tissues in the form of a polymer with high molecular weight. This molecule is highly active in terms of its biological profile, and is present in particularly high concentrations in the non-mineralised tissues of the oral cavity, such as the gums and periodontal ligament. The hyaluronic acid (hyaluronan) molecule. The hyaluronic acid contained in Gengigel Prof / Gengi Pro accelerates the tissue healing and repair processes, mimicking and overlapping with the action profile of natural HA and replenishing the amounts lost for different reasons. The advanced formulations of the line allow suitable application of the required amounts of hyaluronic acid, and the beneficial effects appear at an early stage, partly due to the length of time that the substance remains in situ. 18
GENGIGEL PROF / GENGI Pro Gengigel is a patented line registered as a Class II B Medical Device in Europe and U.S. FDA approved HMW HA in dentistry: effects on tissue regeneration, anti-oedema, antiinflammatory and haemostatic effects The primary effect of gingival regeneration Involved in gum healing and repair processes by modulating the inflammatory response, promoting cell proliferation and re-epithelialisation processes and inhibiting receptors for CD 44, a cell adhesion molecule mainly expressed by the leukocytes. At the initial stages of the repair response it promotes the migration and proliferation of the cell lines which, at the next stage, will be dedicated to the rapid physiological process of tissue regeneration, including the primary haemostasis process. It plays a crucial part in keeping the tissues intact, even in the event of inadequate scar development. By modulating the inflammatory response to reduce inflammation, partly by cytokine release, it always provides a suitable anti-inflammatory response, even after traumas. It stimulates the differentiation of granulation tissue during the alveolar repair process (post-extraction, post-surgery). It promotes the blood coagulation process by improving the clotting speed and, in the subsequent stages, accelerating the rupture of the clot and its replacement with granulation tissue (which can be useful to reduce post-implant waiting times). It promotes consolidation of bone tissue at the post-extraction stage. Cutting-edge manufacturing technologies... The high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid (in the form of sodium hyaluronan) contained in all formulations of the Gengigel Prof / Gengi Pro line is obtained by a highly biotechnological manufacturing process which guarantees a high level of purity by eliminating the risk of contamination by animal or human sources. This advanced process allows the extraction of the hyaluronic acid molecules with the highest molecular weight, thus guaranteeing a high average molecular weight.... guarantee that the formulations are safe and unique In view of the high levels of purity, absence of contamination and technological naturalness of the hyaluronic acid contained in the formulations in the line, Gengigel Prof / Gengi Pro can safely be used by children, pregnant women and elderly people. The natural sweetening excipient, xylitol, does not entail the risk of tooth decay, and can be used by diabetics. The superior characteristics and special formulations of the Gengigel Prof / Gengi Pro line are combined with the basic effects of the natural substance: tissue regeneration, anti-oedema, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and haemostasis-promoting effects. 19
Gengigel Prof / Gengi Pro Syringes HAEMOSTASIS AND GINGIVAL POCKETS: THEIR IDEAL HABITATS Reduces gingival pockets Significant anatomo-clinical results are achieved, sometimes after a single application, following closed root planing up to a probing depth of code 3 on the BPE (basic periodontal examination) scale. An open non-surgical planing procedure should always be performed before the use of the product. Reduces bleeding with a haemostatic effect The effect is evident at the peri-operative stage of tooth extraction (in association with the usual local compressive manoeuvres and stitching of the surgical wound if necessary), during professional hygiene sessions, and during the removal of stitches, including embedded sutures. Promotes and accelerates tissue reconstruction after surgical traumas especially periodontal work, implants, tooth extractions, and subgingival root planing and scaling. To ensure the best results, the product should be applied after a professional hygiene session, the day before the operation and after stitching (but never during open surgery), at the end of the procedure. Promotes and accelerates anti-oedema processes especially in patients suffering from gingivitis and periodontal disease. Has an anti-inflammatory effect especially in the case of gingivitis caused by mechanical, compressive or iatrogenic factors. Particularly suitable for gingival pockets (up to code 3 on the BPE - basic periodontal examination - scale), all forms of periodontal disease, including the most serious ones, at the peri-operative stages, and all situations in which the wound involves the dermis. -SYRINGES- 2 pre-filled syringes 1 ML 0,8% Hyaluronic Acid Advantages of a formulation specifically designed for targeted use, with no wastage The two pre-filled syringes are individually blister-packed and contain 1 ml of the product, to ensure the integrity of the product and perfect hygiene. The two syringes are supplied with 4 long, flexible tips (also individually blisterpacked), to ensure better application of the product at the points which are most difficult to reach. The tip is secured to the syringe with the simple, immediately understandable luer-lock system. In this case, the product is odourless and colourless, and should not be used for open surgery. 20
Gengigel Prof / Gengi Pro Bulbs A CLOSE LOOK AT TOPICAL HAEMOSTASIS» Professional Line Reduces bleeding, due to the haemostatic effect The effect is evident at the peri-operative stage of tooth extraction (in association with the usual local compressive manoeuvres and stitching of the surgical wound if necessary), during professional hygiene sessions, and during the removal of stitches, including embedded sutures. Promotes and accelerates tissue reconstruction after surgical traumas, especially periodontal work, implants, tooth extractions, and subgingival root planing and scaling. To ensure the best results, the product should be applied after a professional hygiene session, the day before the operation and after stitching (but never during open surgery), at the end of the procedure. Promotes and accelerates oedema-reducing processes, especially in patients suffering from gingivitis and periodontal disease. Has an anti-inflammatory effect which is especially useful in the case of gingivitis caused by mechanical, compressive or iatrogenic factors. Particularly suitable for all forms of periodontal disease including the most serious ones, at the peri-operative stages, and all situations in which the wound involves the dermis. The advantages of a formulation specifically designed for safe, immediate, efficient, reproducible use. -BULBS- 12 pre-filled bulbs 0.2 ML 0,8% Hyaluronic Acid Applicator for GENGIGEL Prof / GENGI Pro bulbs The bulbs are designed to guarantee the maximum level of hygiene (the bulbs are individually blister packed) and precision (due to their applicators). To operate: insert bulb in applicator, cut or break off spout of bulb, and the product is ready for use. The applicator ensures there is no waste, because the plunger reaches to the end of the bulb. The applicator can be autoclaved at 121 for 30 minutes. In this case, the product is odourless and colourless. 21
Gengigel Prof / Gengi Pro Fluid PRIMARY PAIN RELIEF» Professional Line Reduces pain and discomfort, especially during professional hygiene, tooth whitening, stitch removal and periodontal probing procedures. Promotes and accelerates anti-oedema processes, especially in patients suffering from gingivitis and periodontal disease. Has an anti-inflammatory effect, which is especially useful in the case of gingivitis caused by mechanical, compressive or iatrogenic factors. The advantages of a specifically designed formulation for simple, rapid, efficient use Constant, precise waste-free administration of the product due to the dispenser pump, which dispenses 2 ml of product on each pressure. The product is ready for use, and should not be diluted. -FLUID- 500 ML bottle 0,1% Hyaluronic Acid Patients who undergo a professional dental hygiene or whitening session should rinse with Gengigel Prof / Gengi Pro Fluid before and after the cleaning or whitening procedure for 1-2 minutes, using 10 ml of the product, to reduce the sensitivity of the mucous membranes. The viscosity of the product allows it to reach the sites to be treated and remain in situ for longer. In the case of patients who are still under the effect of a local anaesthetic, it also ensures that there are no unwanted expulsions of the product from the oral cavity. In addition to its efficacy and safety, Gengigel Prof / Gengi Pro Fluid has a modern, compact container. Each bottle is sold with 50 measuring spoons to ensure easier use of the viscous solution (even in patients still under the effect of a local anaesthetic) compared with ordinary plastic cups. 22
