3 Youth Baseball & Softball A Youth Baseball and Softball sponsorship ensures that this program remains affordable for everyone while offering a quality experience. Your partnership will give you exposure to thousands of people and is easier than ever! Just provide a logo and sponsorship fee and we do the rest! Annually 80+ teams with players total. Team ships $375 MAJOR LEAGUE OPENING DAY JOIN US WITH A TABLE HIGHLIGHTING YOUR BUSINESS. These certificates would be used as prizes for participants, supplies for programs and more. 7 Independence Township Senior Community Center SENIOR ADULTS The Independence Township Senior Community Center is located in Clintonwood Park in Clarkston. The Center offers discounted recreation and wellness programs, drop-in activities, trips and services for adults aged 50+. The programs take place in the Community Center, the Carriage House, and numerous sites throughout the community. For more information, call the center at (248) or visit Senior/Disabled Adult Transportation This program serves seniors over 55 and disabled adults over 18 who reside in the Independence Township, Village of Clarkston, or Springfield Township. We provide rides to medical locations, grocery stores, beauty shops and other appointments. In 2015 we provided service to over 6000 clients (many of them are repeat riders) and drove over 60,000 miles. Bucks for Buses Bucks for Buses is the premier fundraiser for our transportation program. Our sponsorships enable us to continue to provide this very important service in our community. 8 The senior population is the fastest growing demographic in Independence Township. Special Events: The Senior Community Center celebrates several large special events throughout the year. These events are well attended and are usually held in honor of certain groups. In-kind donations in lieu of monetary donations will be accepted. Veterans Luncheon Week of Veterans Day, Thursday, November 10 Once a year in the fall we honor our veterans with a special lunch at no charge to them. Over 100 veterans attend from the community. Our Program and Activity Volunteers lead many of our programs such as Genealogy, Pickleball, Card Groups, Travel Escorts and many other programs. 9 Independence Fest Veterans Celebration Monday, July 4, 2016 This event is held in conjunction with Independence Township Parks Recreation & Seniors Department Independence Fest held on the Fourth of July each year. The Senior Community Center will host this special event to honor all of the community s veterans who have served in war and peace time. This celebration includes a Military Museum, patriotic entertainment, an outdoor presentation and a meet and greet of the veterans.
