Decide which statement is the most appropriate cause or effect that belongs in each space. Example: A new girl, Lily Jean, moved next door to sisters Sandy and Carly. The sisters now had someone new to play with. Lily Jean did not want Carly to play house, but finally agreed after Sandy asked her to let her sister play. Carly acted like a cow and mooed and pretended to eat grass. When the three girls were playing king and queen, Lily Jean told Carly she would have to pretend to be a dog. Sandy got mad at Lily Jean for calling her sister names and said that she could not play circus with them. Lily Jean promised to be nice. Lily Jean called Carly stupid. Lily Jean told Sandy that three cowgirls would be too many and Carly had to pretend to be a cow. When they were playing house, Lily Jean was mean to Carly and treated her like a baby. Carly, pretending to be a dog, grabbed Lily Jean s shoe and buried it in the sandbox. After Lily Jean stopped acting like a bully, the three girls played together and had fun.
