3 Overview & Calendar Created in Sydney in 2009, DanceLife Unite has quickly grown into Australia s NEW Elite National Dance Championship with an exceptional response from competitors, teachers, parents and judges alike! In 205 the competition expands again to incorporate new cities, more online heats and more categories - giving the most comprehensive options possible for dancers from all locations to experience the magic of DanceLife Unite! This year LIVE EVENTS for Troupes, Crews & School Dance Groups will be held in the following cities: Sydney (NSW), Central Coast (NSW), Newcastle (NSW), Perth (WA), Hobart (TAS), Melbourne (VIC), Gold Coast (QLD), Brisbane (QLD) and Auckland (NZ). In 205 ONLINE EVENTS will be held for Dance Solos, Duos, Trios, Models, Dance Troupes, Crews and now Vocalists across 3 Heats: Feb/Mar (Heat One), May/Jun (Heat Two), July (Last Chance Qualifier subject to remaining availability). What we offer High-octane professionally run LIVE REGIONAL competitions for TROUPES & CREWS Professionally adjudicated ONLINE SOLO, DUO/TRIO, MODEL & VOCAL Heats Unique ONLINE TROUPE, CREW & INTERNATIONAL Competition Exciting Professionally run LIVE NATIONAL ELITE GRAND FINAL Unlike any other dance competition in Australia, DanceLife Unite offers cash & exceptional industryrelevant prizes. Each Regional Troupe Competition has its own localised Prize Pool worth between $5,000 and $0,000 depending on the level of entries for that city. Major Award Categories for each regional heat include: Choreography, Entertainment, Technique, Highest Pointscore and more. NATIONAL QUALIFICATION! Troupes that compete and qualify with 80 points or above at one of our Regional Heats are eligible to enter and compete at Australia s NEW DanceLife Unite National Elite Grand Final to be held at Sydney s iconic fun-filled mecca, LUNA PARK. CAN T MAKE IT TO A REGIONAL EVENT? WE VE GOT YOU COVERED! Troupes, School Groups & Crews that would love to enter DanceLife Unite but are either located too far from one of our live event locations or unable complete routines in time, may enter & compete for adjudication, prizes and National qualification via our Online Program. This program is also open to International Troupe & Crew competitors. SOLOS, DUO/TRIOS, MODEL & VOCAL COMPS: Dance Solo, Duo & Trio, Model & Vocal competitors now have a platform to compete at an Elite Level against dancers from all across Australia, regardless of geographic location. The DanceLife Unite Online Program is the only competition of its kind where entry is as easy as uploading a YouTube file to our competition entry system. Finalists are chosen by our online judging panel and will be invited to join us for a fun-filled event at Nationals in Sydney, September 205, and compete for prizes including massive Dance Scholarships, National & International Travel and Training Opportunities, Dancewear, Individualised Mentoring and much, much more! 3

At DanceLife Unite, we understand the very busy lives of young dancers and their parents. For this reason, we have created a unique opportunity for Solo, Duo & Trio acts to enter and compete ONLINE against the rest of Australia! No geographic boundaries! No sitting at competitions for long hours! No travelling back & forth for days...! Just a quick entry online and wait for the results! Here s how it works. Enter Online from January 3 st, 205 for the February/March HEAT ONE Enter Online from April 30th, 205 for the May/June HEAT TWO A LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER will be run throughout July subject to availability of positions at Nationals Entry fees are: $25 + GST per Solo, Vocal or Model Entry Entry fees are: $35 + GST per Duo/Trio Entry Upload to YouTube a good quality recording of Solo, Duo/Trio or Vocal stage performance from any competition within the past 2 months. DanceLife Unite, in conjunction with Capezio Australia are conducting a Nationwide Search for young dance models to be the Face of Capezio for 206 in the following age groups: Petite (8yrs & Under) Junior (9-2yrs) Teen (3-6yrs) Senior (7-2yrs) If you have the look, the skill, the personality and love to combine your passion for dance with your passion for fashion, you could be the next Face of Capezio in your age group. 8 Online Solo, Duo/Trio, Model & Vocal Competition All entrants for the Model Search must also be entered in the Dance Solo, Duo or Trio Online competition to qualify. Simply upload one headshot and one body-shot with your online entry, complete all details and pay relevant entry fee. Contestants entered in Heats will be judged on photogenic qualities only. Successful finalists will be invited to Nationals in September 205 to workshop with some of Sydney s finest models where they will learn a catwalk routine, modelling tips and compete for the National Title in their age group. However dancers who also sing have the world at their feet with numerous opportunities to expand their career paths in new and exciting ways. DanceLife Unite encourages all dancers to find your inner voice and explore the many gifts that singing from your soul can bring! In 205 we introduce the DanceLife Unite National Vocal Competition for Dancers where performers will compete for amazing prizes and the title of DanceLife Unite - Voice of 205 in each age category: Petite (8yrs & Under) Junior (9-2yrs) Teen (3-6yrs) Senior (7-2yrs) Here s how it works. These dates fall in the middle of the NSW Spring school holidays. Luna Park has long been recognised as Sydney s premier amusement park featuring fun and games for the entire family. Located at Milsons Point on the north side of Sydney Harbour Bridge, the park has an amazing outlook over Sydney Harbour. Entry to Luna Park is free so you only need to pay for rides and games. DanceLife Unite National participants will qualify for special discounts on park activities across the weekend of the event. To Qualify for Nationals: Troupes or crews must qualify at one of our Regional Live Events OR a troupe or crew may enter our online competition for a chance to qualify for Nationals. Troupes must achieve a minimum score of 80 points at the Regional or Online Event to qualify for Nationals. Solo, Duo and Trio acts together with Modelling contestants must qualify by achieving Celebrity level in our Online Competition. Celebrity and Rising Star levels will be explained further upon your entry to our Online Competition. 0

This wristband allows the performer to: Perform on Stage Be a spectator of any section Participate in all relevant workshops Any performer not wearing a wristband will not be granted access to any of the above. Where a performer s wristband has been lost, destroyed, stolen, forgotten or otherwise gone missing, a new wristband MUST BE PURCHASED before the performer will be granted access to PERFORM, SPECTATE or PARTICIPATE in any event at the DanceLife Unite Nationals. 13 Terms & Conditions Regional Live Competitions Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Hobart, Auckland Rules, regulations and guidelines: DanceLife Unite takes pride in being a fair and professional competition. Please read all the rules, regulations and guidelines carefully, making sure that everyone in your dance studio/group is across them. a) Submitting Your Music. All CD s must be of good quality, clearly labelled (dance studio name, section, competitor number and AMCOS number), and only one track of music per CD. No Tapes or other media accepted. Tracks should be recorded as WAV or MP3 files NOT ITunes or Data files. 2. You are requested to submit a back-up CD with your original on the day in a double pouch CD case. 3. Music is to be submitted when you arrive at the venue by handing your CD to the Session Manager in the foyer. Check your schedule for arrival times. 4. Pre recorded tap sounds will not be permitted on CDs in Tap categories. 5. Pre-recorded student vocals are permitted on the backing track for Entertainment category. b) Age Groups. Age of competitors will be taken from st January Age limits for all sections must be strictly adhered to. 3. Age limits are NOT based on the average age of your troupe. 4. Pointe work may only be performed from the age of 2 years. c) Performances. 5 Points will be deducted if groups do not perform in scheduled sequence. If you have any scheduling queries please contact us six weeks prior to event. 2. You must be ready to perform at least 3 acts before yours, unless you have permission from the DanceLife Unite Directors in writing before the day of competition. 3. Schools can enter two groups in the same section. If you have an extra routine our suggestion would be to place this in the Entertainment Section. 4. The only exception to rule 3) is where one section needs to be combined with another due to lack of entries. 5. All routines and costumes must be appropriate for family viewing. 6. Small troupes are classified as groups with 4-9 students and may compete at Regional Live Events in either the Small Troupe section appropriate to genre or in the regular troupe sections. 7. Groups are responsible for preparing and removing all props in a timely manner. A 30 second time limit applies. 8. Simple hand held props are allowed but no props that need assembly on site including scenery are permitted without prior written approval from a DanceLife Staff Member. 9. House curtains are not drawn between items and stage lights are not dimmed. Please rehearse stage entrances and exits accordingly. 0. There is limited crossover backstage at selected venues. In the interests of safety, choreography should limit or preferably omit backstage crossovers.. Any discrepancy in score sheets must be brought to the attention of a DanceLife Unite Staff member on that day of competition. No protest will be accepted after the day of competition. Only Studio Directors will be permitted to approach the DanceLife Unite Staff concerning any problems, if they may arise. 2. Any dispute must be accompanied with a $50 non-refundable fee regardless of the outcome. 3. All participants grant permission to DanceLife Unite, to use their photographs/video snippets* or to appear on/in local and/ or National media to promote the event.*note, small grabs of video for promotion only. d) Time Limits. Groups are to adhere to the specified time limits. Groups of 6/U, 8/U and 0/U have a time limit of 4 minutes. Groups of 2/U, 4/U, 6/U and Primary Schools have a time limit of 5 minutes. A 6 minute time limit applies to Open Age and High School troupe sections only. 2. A 5-point deduction will apply to any act that runs more than 5 seconds overtime. 3. No correspondence will be entered into for any act that has points deducted for overtime or for any other reason. Please check your music & routine length from first to last movement. e) Awards & Prizes. Workshops, cash prizes, theatre tickets and gift vouchers will be awarded. 2. Written reports for all competitors that can be collected after each session from the Session Manager. We do not post out awards or score sheets. 3. DanceLife Unite ribbons for placing junior troupe members (6/U 2/U). 4. Winners of cash prizes must provide banking details within 4 days of the conclusion of the Live Event to be eligible to claim prize. 5. DanceLife Unite reserve the right to reduce the advertised prize pool where minimum numbers of competitors have not been met. f) Videos/Cameras/Phones/Ipads. Use of video cameras, photo cameras, smart phones, Ipads and other image or movement recording devices are strictly prohibited within the auditorium. DanceLife Unite Staff Members 3

14 reserve the right to take the videotape being used and/or disqualify the relevant troupe. 2. Teachers, please inform students and families of this rule. g) Dressing Rooms. Dressing Room facilities are limited. Entrants are therefore requested to come as pre-prepared as possible, with make up completed. 2. Dressing rooms are for dressing only; no teachers, parents or additional students allowed to congregate as there is simply not enough room to socialise. Please dress & exit quickly to allow others to use dressing space. 3. No food or drink other than water allowed in dressing rooms. 4. Any studio or student that abuses dressing rooms will be disqualified. 5. A cleaning fee of $200 minimum will be charged to any studio leaving dressing rooms/areas untidy. h) General Entry Conditions. All entries must be completed ONLINE and paid in full via PayPal which includes credit card option. 2. Entry fees are not refundable; entries are transferable to another section if received before the close of entry date only. 3. Sportsman like behaviour is expected at all times. DanceLife Unite promotes ethical, positive & respectful industry practices. Therefore, at our events, the following will not be tolerated: poaching, plagiarism (copying of choreography/concept/costuming etc), intimidation or any other unsportsmanlike or derogatory comments or behaviour. Judges, staff, directors and other studio personnel are to be respected at all times. 4. Junior or assistant teaching staff may perform with students for studio troupes in Open Age sections. Studio Directors and senior teaching staff (whose main income is drawn from teaching, choreographing or performing) are not eligible to compete. 5. No teachers, parents or other persons coaching from side stage (except for 6/U sections where 2 helpers are allowed). Side stage areas must remain clear until staff have directed entry or exit. 6. DanceLife Unite and the competition venue are not responsible for any property loss or injury to any persons attending the event and lost property will be left at the venue for your collection. 7. Entrants perform at their own risk. Entrants agree that they are of good health and fitness and physically able to participate. 8. DanceLife Unite reserves the right to add or delete competition days, or move competition location, due to unforeseen circumstances and entries will not be refunded if DanceLife Unite extends dates. 9. DanceLife Unite reserves the right to cancel any section where fewer than six entries have been received. In this case the Director may place the competitor in the next higher age group section, combine with closest genre, or refund entry fee. 0. The Judges decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. Any person approaching a judge during the course of competition will render their school disqualified.. If a Judge is unable to perform his or her duties, DanceLife Unite reserves the right to appoint a substitute without notice. 2. All entries are taken on first come basis, we also reserve the right to refuse any entry. 3. Please enter early to avoid disappointment. Teachers are asked to do all studio entries together to avoid any confusion. 4. Please ensure you enter the correct categories. An $8.00 charge fee for each change will automatically apply. 5. At DanceLife Unite Regional competitions, Troupes win Cash and Prizes rather than trophies. 2. Major Awards are presented at the conclusion of the Live Event for Best Choreography, Entertainment, Technique, Highest Point-score and many more categories. 3. The total prize pool for each Regional varies between $5,000 and $0,000 worth of Cash & Prizes depending upon the level of entries. Please read all the rules, regulations and guidelines carefully, making sure that you are completely across them. a) Studio Director / Parent Responsibilities & Guarantees. Studio Directors and/or Parents entering their solo students/child accept full responsibility for adhering to all Terms & Conditions of our Online Competition. 2. Any competitor (or representative) found to falsify any detail will be disqualified from the Online competition and from entering our National Elite Grand Final. 3. To be eligible to enter our Online Solo, Duo/Trio or Model Competition the competitor must accept all terms of our competition. b) Submitting Your Video & Photographic Entries. All Video entries for dancers must be of good quality and filmed in either a concert or competition setting on stage with white light only. Items with theatrical lighting or special EFX including multiple edits will not be accepted. 2. Vocalists may be filmed in a private setting for Online Heats however sound quality must be good and un-edited. 3. No backing vocals on backing tracks for Vocalists. 4. All entries must be loaded to a YouTube channel and the link correctly copied to your entry. The YouTube upload should be set to Unlisted and must remain active until the end of the National Competition. 5. All Video recordings must be taken within the 2 months prior to the relevant Heat start date. 6. Pre recorded tap sounds will not be permitted in Tap categories. 7. For Model Photogenic categories please provide ONE headshot and ONE full length shot in JPG format of entrant (no larger than 500KB each). Entries will not be accepted where more photos have been provided than required. Forward copy of your a) PayPal entry, and b) 2 x Photos to 8. Model contestants entered in Heats will be judged on photogenic qualities only. Successful finalists will be invited to Nationals in September 205 to workshop with some of Sydney s finest models where they will learn a catwalk routine, modelling tips and compete for the National Title in their age group. c) Age Groups. All Solos, Duo & Trios must adhere to the following time limits: 6/U and 8/U have a time limit of 2.5 minutes; Solos of 0/U, 2/U, 4/U and 6/U and 7-2years have a time limit of 3 minutes. 2. Graded certificates for all competitors reaching Celebrity and Rising Star status are mailed with reports to the address indicated on the PayPal entry form. 4. ALL Troupes with a mark over 80 points through our Live or Online Events are eligible to enter and compete at the DanceLife Unite Elite National Championships. 2. Solo, Duo, Trio, Vocal and Modelling contestants who qualify at Celebrity level, are eligible to enter and compete at the DanceLife Unite Elite National Championships. 3. Any person or school who enters our National competition, who is found not to have qualified correctly, will forfeit entry fees and be disqualified from the National Grand Final. b) Submitting Your Music. All CD s must be of good quality, clearly labelled (dance studio name, section, competitor number and AMCOS number), and only one track of music per CD. No Tapes or other media accepted. Qualified solo performers can enter as many different genres within their age group as desired at Nationals however these items MUST ALL HAVE QUALIFIED through our Online Solo Competition for the National Event. 4. Places are limited and will be available on a first come, first serve basis in all categories. 5. Entrants will first compete in the DanceLife Unite National Finals. Successful competitors will then progress to the DanceLife Unite Elite National Grand Final, for their chance to win major prizes and be awarded National Champion status Points will be deducted if groups do not perform in scheduled sequence except at the Director s discretion. Any discrepancy in score sheets must be brought to the attention of a DanceLife Unite Staff member on that day of competition. No protest will be accepted after the day of competition. Only Studio Directors will be permitted to approach the DanceLife Unite Staff concerning any problems, if they may arise. 6. Any dispute must be accompanied with a $50 non-refundable fee regardless of the outcome. 7. All participants grant permission to DanceLife Unite, to use their photographs/video snippets* or to appear on/in local and/ or National media to promote the event.*note, small grabs of video for promotion only. e) Time Limits. Groups are to adhere to the specified time limits. Groups of 6/U, 8/U and 0/U have a time limit of 4 minutes. Groups of 2/U, 4/U and 6/U have a time limit of 5 minutes.
