3 Course choices Please make sure that you choose the appropriate route for you, from the three options below, based on your predicted and actual grades. Next, choose the courses that you wish to study from pages 4 & 5 or 6 and indicate with a in the left hand column. LEVEL 3 ACADEMIC Select four choices from the LEVEL 3 list (pages 4 & 5) The LEVEL 3 ACADEMIC course is designed for students who want to pursue an Academic route to Higher Education or Employment. Students will be able to study a range of A Levels. Entry onto the LEVEL 3 ACADEMIC course requires a minimum of seven A*-C GCSE grades or equivalent, to include English or Maths, OR five A*-C GCSE grades or equivalent, to include English and Maths. OR LEVEL 3 TECHNICAL ACADEMIC Select four choices from the LEVEL 3 list (pages 4 & 5) The LEVEL 3 TECHNICAL course is designed to provide an alternative to the A Level study route for Post 16 Education. Students will be able to follow a course which is a more Vocational pathway to Higher Education or Employment, to include a blend of A Level and BTEC qualifications and retakes in GCSE English and/or Maths if necessary. Entry onto the LEVEL 3 TECHNICAL course requires AT LEAST 3 GCSE grades at A*-C or equivalent, to include either English or Maths AND at least 3 GCSEs at grade D. OR LEVEL 2 COURSE ACADEMIC Select six choices from the LEVEL 2 list (page 6) The LEVEL 2 course is a one year course, designed to prepare students for their next level of study. The LEVEL 2 course offers retakes in English and Maths GCSE and a choice of additional GCSEs & Vocational Courses. Successful completion of this course could mean progression to one of the 2 year, Level 3 courses, giving a total of 3 years in Sixth Form.
