Day Excursion Description Adult Prices Wednesday Bardo- Carthage-Sidi Bou Saïd (1 Day) Visit the National Museum of Bardo, a world-renowned archaeological museum located in an ancient palace. You will admire the splendid mosaics collection of Roman and Byzantine periods. Visit the ancient Carthage: Antonine s baths and Byrsa Hill. Lunch. Fee time at Sidi Bou Saïd, a typical blue and white Moorish village. 99 TD Wednesday The South & Onk Jmel (2 Days) DAY 1: Depart for El Jem. Visit the amphitheatre of El Jem, one of the most impressive of the Roman Empire. Continue to Matmata. Stop en route for lunch. Visit the troglodyte Cave Dwellings. Depart for Douz, stop at Tamezret. Check in at Mehari Douz or a similar hotel. Optional camel trek into the Sahara dunes for approximately 1.5 hours. DAY 2: Cross the Chott El Jerid salt desert. Depart by jeep to the mountain oasis of Chebika. Continue to Onk Jamel to take in the beautiful scenery and part of the Star Wars set. The second or third day of your arrival at the hotel, we will give an informative meeting session about Tunisia, your hotel and the optional excursions. The hotels in Tunisia are well appreciated from the Canadians. Look at the price! There is so much to see in Tunisia. The capital, Tunis, the blue and white Mediterranean village of Sidi Bou Said, the Bardo Museum, The El Jem Coliseum, the Berber villages in the desert, the Oasis mountains and of course the majestic Sahara... A calendar with the various excursions will be available for you in the travel documents one month prior to departure. A minimum of participants can be required so we strongly suggest purchasing them early upon arrival. Various stores and local restaurants do not accept credit cards or apply a surcharge when using a credit card, so it is good to bring a certain amount of Canadian dollars that you will change for Tunisian Dinars at the front desk of your hotel. We suggest you just bring your debit card as ATM machine are found near the hotel and everywhere in town. Last, but not least, remember to bring some warm clothes and rain gear. Travelling to the Mediterranean can be hot during the day, but a lot cooler in the morning and at night. We hope this helps in your preparations.
