Ongoing judicial scrutiny of various issues in patent law and the recentlyenacted America Invents Act are rapidly changing the legal landscapes of both patent prosecution and patent litigation. This singleday multi-session seminar will cover a broad range of topics, including: recent Supreme Court review of various aspects of patent law; new Patent Office initiatives; post grant challenge procedures; a discussion of the extensive Phone Wars litigation surrounding mobile devices; ethics and risk management; expedited examination procedures; and international portfolio considerations. What You Will Learn: Strategic decision-making in the first inventorto-file system Patent practice and standards/open source How the patent portfolio use acquisition landscape is changing Trends in distributed infringement innovation in and CLE Credit We are an approved provider by most states requiring CLE and have applied for credit for this meeting to all states requiring CLE. The number of credit hours will vary depending on the requirements of the individual state. For 50-minute states, up to 7.8 CLE credit hours, including 0.6 Ethics credit, are available. Certificates of Attendance, Attendance Signin Rosters and all other CLE information for states with CLE requirements will be available at the Registration Desk. AIPLA s 2014 Electronic & Computer Law Summit has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar of California (a 60-minute state) in the amount of 6.5 credit hours, including 0.5 Ethics credit.
