Residentiallcommercia l/l nd ustria l/ru ral/other The area is residential and the footpath is bordered with a low wall and then hedgerows which border the residential properties. Speed restrictions on all roads involved 30mph Road surface material i.e. Tarmac with inlaid stone chippinss Manwell Road and its footpaths are reasonably flat with no perceivable gradients. On the approach to the accident site, there are no obstructions that would have affected a view of the accident site as Mr Martin approached. Road borders i.e. Tarmac/Pavinq stone/grass verse. (lnclude kerb height were apolicablel On the comer of Manwell Road and Poppy Street there are two concrete bollards at the outer edge of the footpath just before the kerbstones. These bollards have a diameter of about 30cms and stand about 80cms high.

The footpath is paved and averages a width of 2.2 metres, generally, it is in good condition. Anv Obstructions or Hazards at time of visit (fixed or temporarv) i.e. Walls / Road works At some point, the bollard nearest Mr Martin (as he approached them), has been hit by something on its western side, this has caused the concrete and paving slab adjacent to this bollard to crack and lift, it would appear that this is the raised paving slab which Mr Martin has tripped over. Give all measurements of roads and iunctions involved i.e. width of iunction mouthlwidth of roadlwidth of lanes. (lnclude compass point on sketch) The footpath is paved and averages a width of 2.2 metres The bollards have a diameter of about 30cms and stand about 80cms high. The paving slab has lifted from one corner next to the bollard so the fault depth is not constant. The depth next to the bollard is nearly 2Smillimetres; this reduces to less than 10 millimetres over about a 2Scentimetre distance from the bollard. There is a maximum depth of 30 millimetres about half way along this section.
