3 The Resort SAN SICARIO, ITALY San Sicario is part of the extensive Milky Way, (Via Lattea) which has 400kms of skiing. Easy 96km Height m Cable cars 1 Intermediate Advanced 220km 84km Marked runs Slopes face 200 kms Gondolas 7 North, West, South Chair lifts 36 Snow making 60% Lifts 78 Drag Lifts 31 One of Europe's premier ski areas, the Milky Way (or Via Lattea) is a beautiful location with a vast and varied skiing area. The area is excellent for mixed ability groups - you will be spoilt for choice with the abundance of beginner, intermediate and advanced level slopes! With a mix of woodland runs for absolute beginners and steeper slopes to improve on, this is a great resort for both beginners and Intermediates. For advanced skiers the Fraiteve and Moncrons runs are well worth a visit. Sestriere has the men s downhill rum form the 2006 Olympics and our hotel is at the bottom of the Women s Olympic run. It s a great way to finish a day s skiing. We have been skiing in the Milky Way area for the last two years (Montgenevre in 2013 and Claviere in 2011) and it has proved to be excellent for school ski trips. It really is a very diverse area and with the extra one hour tuition per day we should be able to ski far more widely than on most school ski trips. The Piste map for the 400km Milky Way - 3 -

4 The Village San Sicario 1700m Sansicario is nestled between its two larger neighbours, Sestrière and Sauze d Oulx. The old village is just below the newer purpose built town which lies in a natural bowl, but provides great access into the Italian Milky Way area which is included in the lift pass for groups staying here (one day extension for Montgenèvre also included). The town is traffic free and has benefited from the investment made when the area was host to the Winter Olympics in The Hotel This 3 star hotel enjoys a great location in the centre of the village of Sansicario, a few minutes walk to the shops. It is just 50m from the lifts and 300m from the ski school meeting point. It is centrally located in the middle of the Milky Way so is perfect for making the most of the 400km of pistes as guests can ski right back to the hotel. Accommodation is on a full board basis with hot lunches at the hotel (packed lunches are also available on request). The Rio Envers has 46 ensuite rooms and can accommodate a total of 150 guests in rooms sleeping 2-4. All rooms have a telephone, TV and hairdryer and some also have balconies. Well located in Sansicario, the hotel has panoramic views and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. 5 Read Carefully About the Course Skiing is a demanding winter sport. If you come on this trip you will be skiing for 5 hours a day. Only sign up for this trip if you are fit, healthy and enjoy outdoor activities. If you sign up for this trip, are accepted onto it, and later have to withdraw, we will only be able to refund any payments if a suitable replacement is found. PGL is a very reputable company (ATOL/ABTA/IATA) which we have used a number of times with great success. Most recently for our 2012 trip to Claviere. The staff accompanying the trip are very experienced in taking school groups abroad (and bringing them back). We hope to have four ski groups and with a range of abilities, thus ensuring appropriate challenge for each student. There is a range of superb evening activities on offer during the week including quizzes, sledging, karaoke and all manner of challenges.
