20 Energy Statistics Energy statistics in a traditional sense, i.e. statistics that presents information on the production and to some extent on the use of energy measured in quantities Energy statistics for oil and gas products and electricity is collected and published based on reporting to the QSA from mainly two energy producers and distributors: Qatar Petroleum and the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation. Information is published via The Annual Statistical Abstract and a booklet Qatar in Figures; by QSA Page 20

21 The Annual Questionnaires on Industrial Statistics The source of the economic information (employment, value added, etc.) for the energy sector is an annual survey on industry sent to the establishments The survey is part of a comprehensive survey system for all ISIC rev. 3 sections covering: Industry, Building and Construction, Wholesale and Retail Trade, Restaurants and Hotels, Social and Personal Services, Banks, Insurance, Transport and Communication, and Business services. For each group of activities a specific survey questionnaire is sent to establishments. Page 21

22 intermediate use of energy products Included in the questionnaires are also questions about the intermediate use of energy products. Only for the Industrial Statistics the establishments are requested to report on the quantities. For the other survey areas only information on the values of energy products purchased is requested. 22 Page 22
