We have a total of 9 Gazelles and 2 Entrepreneur of the Year awards, signalising that our company is growing and profits match. In 2006, we received the award Den gyldne Ambolt for a successful alternation of generations, submitted by the employees. 14 Domestic waste collection Today, the domestic waste division has about 450 employees, which makes it the biggest division within the Meldgaard Group. We collect domestic waste and recycling waste from about 25% of all Danish households. Municipal domestic waste collection. Recycling. 16 Residues Bottom ash from Waste to Energy incinerators is 100% recyclable. During combustion in the incinerator, the elements that can t burn end up in the bottom ash. For the receipt of these ashes, we have sites in all parts of Denmark. We receive and sort the ashes from the Waste-to-Energy plants, providing the local construction market with a quality substitute for engineering fill, soil and sub-base gravel. Recycled bottom ash can for example be used as engineering fill for earthworks in the construction industry. Recycled bottom ash is a low-cost alternative to natural raw construction materials. Bottom ash is 100% recyclable with the extraction of ferrous and non-ferrous metals contributing to the financial benefits. At that time, the company owned just one agency, but it has grown ever since. 27 Garnet Greenline Garnet Greenline AB is one of the Meldgaard Group s niche companies, whose main product is recycled Garnet sand for industrial / water jet cutting. The Garnet sand which is used in this process is a scarce resource that is primarily imported from India. The continuous growth in global demand for it is therefore accompanied by a corresponding increase in purchase prices of approx. 15 % per year. Garnet Greenline s extensive, year-long research in the reuse of Garnet sand has made it the only company in the world to successfully create a process that recycles used abrasive sand in a brand new, purpose-built factory. At the same time, the sand recovered from the used abrasive sand has better cutting properties than virgin sand from India, which means that the process is actually more of upcycling of an existing product rather than mere recycling. Today, we are 17 employees in wholesale and have a 6,000 m 2 large modern warehouse. We store animal feed and other supplies for birds, fish, rodents, dogs, cats, reptiles and horses.
