Mark the vertical and horizontal centre on the White Tone-on-Tone Cotton fabric. Mark the vertical and horizontal centre on the 37 x 27 (94 x 69 cm) Royal Blue Satin quilt top. Follow the instructions for either your 6D Premier or 5D Professional Plus Embroidery Software to create the necessary embroidery designs before starting your Royale Quilt.

3 Embroider Crest 1. Centre the White Tone-on-Tone Cotton Fabric with Sew-Soft Fusible Quilt Batting and INSPIRA Tear-A- Way stabilizer in the 260 x 200 DESIGNER Crown Hoop. 2. Thread your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER with Robison Anton 40wt Metallic J40 thread colour 1003 Gold on top and bobbin thread in the bobbin. 3. Insert an INSPIRA embroidery needle, size Attach the Sensor Q Foot. 5. Attach the USB Embroidery stick to your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER DIAMOND Royale sewing and embroidery machine. 6. Toggle to Embroidery 7. Select File Manager External Device. 8. Touch and hold the USB Embroidery stick icon. 9. Touch and hold the Appliqué E.vp3 (or your named appliqué design) to load it onto the 10. Select My Hoops. 19. Stitch the next part of the design. This will stitch the appliqué fabric in place. It will sew a double row of straight stitches. When the appliqué fabric is stitched down a Stop Command will appear on the screen of your machine. 20. Remove the hoop from the embroidery arm. DO NOT REMOVE THE FABRIC FROM THE HOOP. Using the INSPIRA 4 ½ Duck Bill Appliqué scissors, trim the Royal blue cotton fabric close to the stitching. Use the INSPIRA 4 ½ Fine Point Embroidery scissors in the corners of the appliqué if necessary. Trim as close to the stitching as possible. 21. Attach the hoop to the embroidery arm and continue to embroider the appliqué design. 22. When the design is finished remove the hoop from the embroidery arm and toggle back to the Embroidery Edit 23. Touch and hold the Delete icon to remove the design from the Touch OK to confirm Delete all Designs? 24. Remove the fabric from the hoop and the excess stabilizer from behind the design. 25. With your marking pen/chalk and ruler draw a line 2 1 /8 (5.5 cm) away from the top and bottom of your appliquéd letter. 11. Select the 260 x 200 hoop. 12. Attach the 260 x 200 DESIGNER Crown Hoop to the embroidery arm. 13. Select GO to toggle to Embroidery Stitch-out 14. Select Design Positioning. 15. Select the Centre Select Needle point to make sure your design is sitting over the centre markings on your White Tone-on-Tone Cotton fabric. If it is not sitting directly over your centre markings use the arrows to move the design to your marked centre on your fabric. Touch OK to close Design Positioning. 16. Touch the Start/Stop button to begin the embroidery. 17. The first part of the design will stitch the placement line for your appliqué. A Stop Command will appear on the screen of your machine. 18. Position the 9 x 9 (23 x 23 cm) piece of Royal blue cotton fabric over the placement stitching line.

4 26. Hoop INSPIRA Tear-A-Way stabilizer in the 260 x 200 DESIGNER Crown Hoop. 27. Select File Manager External Device. Touch and hold the file Princess.vp3 (or your named file) to load it onto the Embroidery Edit 28. Thread your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER with Robison Anton 40wt Rayon thread to match your quilt top fabric and bobbin thread in the bobbin. 29. Attach the 260 x 200 DESIGNER Crown Hoop to the embroidery arm. 39. Repeat steps to embroider the name below your Appliquéd Letter. 40. When you have finished embroidering the White Tone-on-Tone Crest fabric toggle to Sewing Mode. Attach Crest to Quilt top: 1. Overlap the dotted lines on the four crest pattern pieces. The dotted lines mark the centre of the crest pattern. Tape to hold. 30. Select GO to toggle to Embroidery Stitch-out 31. Select Baste in Hoop. 32. Position your White Tone-on-Tone fabric over the hoop matching the drawn lines above your Appliquéd letter to the centre markings on the hoop. Your Appliquéd letter and excess fabric will be to the left of the hoop. 33. Touch Start/Stop button to baste your fabric to the stabilizer. 34. Use Design Positioning to make sure your design is centred (see steps 14 and 15). 2. Cut out the Crest pattern. 3. Centre the crest shape pattern over the White Toneon-Tone embroidered fabric. Pin in place and cut out the Crest Appliqué. 35. Embroider your design. When finished remove the hoop from the embroidery arm. 4. Centre the White Tone-on-Tone Crest Appliqué on the Royal Blue Satin quilt top. Place a piece of INSPIRA Tear-A-Way stabilizer behind the Quilt top fabric and appliqué. Pin through all layers to secure. Do not skimp on pinning your appliqué down as there are a number of bias edges that could stretch out if they are not pinned securely in place. 36. Remove the fabric from the hoop. Remove the basting stitches and the excess stabilizer from behind the design. 37. Toggle back to the Embroidery Edit Touch and hold the Delete icon to clear the Touch OK to confirm Delete all Designs? 38. Select File Manager. Touch and hold the file Emelie.vp3 (or your named file) to load it onto the Embroidery Edit

5 5. Remove the HUSQVARNA VIKING Sensor Q-Foot. 6. Attach the HUSQVARNA VIKING Open Toe Foot. 7. Select Stitch Menu - Menu F Appliqué stitches. 8. Select Stitch 4. Adjust the length to 0.5mm. Leave the width at 4.0mm 9. Sew stitch F1:4 around the White Tone-on-Tone Crest appliqué. Select your Needle up/down button and pivot as needed for smooth stitching around the appliqué. Embroider the Quilt Top: 1. Thread your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER with Robison Anton Metallic J40 colour 1003 Gold thread on top and bobbin thread in the bobbin. 2. Measure 1 ¾ (4.5 cm) up from the top edge of the Appliquéd crest and draw a line parallel to the top edge of the Appliquéd crest. The centre vertical markings should still be visible. 10. When you have stitched all around the appliqué, and while still sewing, touch the Selective Thread cutter to finish your stitch, tie-off, cut the thread and raise the presser foot. 11. Remove excess stabilizer from behind the stitching. 12. Thread your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER with white sewing thread on top and bobbin thread in the bobbin. 13. Select stitch A1:2 Straight Stitch - centre needle position. 14. Remove the HUSQVARNA VIKING Open Toe Foot. 15. Attach the HUSQVARNA VIKING Sensor Q-Foot. 16. Select the Free Motion icon. 17. Set your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER for Free Motion Spring Action. 18. Stipple the White Tone-on-Tone Crest Appliqué, stippling around the embroideries. 3. Toggle to Embroidery Mode. 4. Select File Manager. 5. Built in Designs. 6. Select the List View. 7. Scroll down to design ROY_021.vp3. Touch and Hold the design to load it onto your Embroidery Edit 8. Select My Hoops and select the 260 x 200 hoop. 9. Select Resize. 10. Select Retain Fill Type 11. Resize to approximately 85.0 x Touch OK to close the Resize feature. 12. Select Rotate 13. Touch the centre of the Rotate Fine Tune wheel to rotate the design 90º. 19. When you have finished stippling the Crest Appliqué select the Free Motion icon. Remove the check mark from Free Motion Spring Action. Touch OK. 14. Hoop your 260 x 200 DESIGNER Crown Hoop with INSPIRA Tear-A-Way stabilizer. 15. Spray the back of your quilt top with 505 Temporary Adhesive spray. 20. Fuse the 37 x 27 (94 x 69 cm) INSPIRA Fusible Fleece to the wrong side of the quilt top.

6 16. Select GO to toggle to Embroidery Stitch-out 17. Select Baste in Hoop. Position the top portion of your quilt top over the hoop matching the horizontal and vertical drawn lines above your appliqué to the centre markings on your inner hoop. 18. Touch the Start/Stop button to baste your quilt top to your stabilizer. Hint: The basting stitches should be parallel to the top edge of your Appliquéd crest. 19. Use Design Positioning to make sure your design is centred.(see steps 14 and 15 on Page 3) 20. Touch the Start/Stop button to begin your embroidery. 21. When you have finished the embroidery, remove the hoop from the embroidery arm. 22. Remove the fabric from the hoop, the basting stitches and the excess stabilizer from behind the quilt top. 23. Toggle back to your Embroidery Edit Touch and Hold Delete to clear the Touch OK to confirm Delete all Designs? 24. Thread your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER with Robison Anton Metallic J40 colour 1012 Blue thread on top and bobbin thread in the bobbin. 25. File Manager. 26. Built in Designs. 27. Select the List View. 28. Scroll down to design ROY_018.vp3. Touch and Hold the design to load it onto your Embroidery Edit 29. Select the Rotate icon. Using the arrows, rotate the design 20º. 30. Measure and draw a vertical line 6 ¼ (16 cm) from both sides of vertical center. Measure up 1 1/4" (3.3 cm) from the top edge of the appliquéd crest and draw a line through the vertical drawn lines to mark the center of your upper side embroideries. 31. Spray the back of your quilt top with 505 Temporary Adhesive spray. 32. Hoop your 260 x 200 DESIGNER Crown Hoop with INSPIRA Tear-A-Way stabilizer. Attach the hoop to your Embroidery arm. 33. Select GO to toggle to Embroidery Stitch-out 34. Select Baste in Hoop. Po s i t i o n t h e l e f t h a n d side of your quilt top centring your marked vertical and horizontal line with the centre markings on the inner hoop. 35. Touch the Start/Stop button to baste your fabric to the stabilizer. 36. Use Design Positioning to make sure your design is centred (see steps 14 and 15 on Page 3). 37. Touch the Start/Stop button on your machine to begin the embroidery. 38. When your embroidery is finished, remove the hoop from the embroidery arm. Remove the quilt top from the hoop, the basting stitches and any excess stabilizer from behind the design. 39. Toggle back to the Embroidery Edit 40. Select Mirror End to End. 41. Repeat steps 31 to 38 to embroider Design ROY_18. vp3 on the right hand side of the centre crown embroidery. 42. Toggle back to your Embroidery Edit Touch and Hold Delete to clear the Touch OK to confirm Delete all Designs? Side Embroideries 1. Measure over 1 (20 mm) from both side points on your appliquéd crest and draw a line parallel to the long side. Draw another line from the side tip of the crest perpendicular to the drawn line. This will be the centre of your side embroidery. 2. Thread your machine with Robison Anton Metallic J 40 colour 1012 Blue thread on top and bobbin thread in the bobbin. 3. File Manager. 4. Built-in Machine designs. You should still be in List View. Scroll down until you come to Design ROY_016.vp3. Touch and Hold the design to load it onto your 5. Select My Hoops.

7 6. Select the 120 x 120 Hoop. 7. Rotate icon. Touch the centre of the Rotate Fine Tune wheel to rotate the design 90º. 8. Spray the back of your quilt top with 505 Temporary Adhesive Spray. 9. Hoop your 120 x 120 Splendid Square Hoop with INSPIRA Tear-A-Way stabilizer. 10. Attach the hoop to your Embroidery Arm. 11. Select GO to toggle to Embroidery Stitch-out 12. Select Baste in Hoop. 13. Position the side of your quilt top over the stabilizer with the centre markings on your quilt top matching the centre markings on your inner hoop. 14. Touch the Start/Stop button on your machine to baste your quilt top to the stabilizer. 15. Use Design Positioning to make sure your design is centred.(see steps 14 and 15 on Page 3) 16. Touch the Start/Stop button on your sewing machine to embroider the side embroidery. 17. When the embroidery is finished remove the hoop from the embroidery arm, remove the fabric from the hoop, the basting stitches and excess stabilizer from behind the design. 18. Repeat for the other side of your quilt top. The excess quilt fabric should always be to the left of the hoop. 19. Toggle back to Embroidery Edit Touch and Hold the Delete Lower Embroideries icon to clear the 1. For the embroidery just below the Appliquéd crest Measure down 2 1 /8 (5.5 cm) and draw a line parallel to the lower edge of the quilt top. The centre vertical line should still be drawn. 2. Thread your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER with Robison Anton Metallic J40 colour 1012 Blue thread on top and bobbin thread in the bobbin. 3. Select My Hoops. 4. Select the 260 x 200 Hoop. 5. Select File Manager. Touch and Hold Design ROY_009.vp3 to load it onto your Embroidery Edit 6. Select the Rotate icon. Touch the centre of the Rotate Fine Tune wheel the design 90º. one time to rotate 7. Hoop your 260 x 200 DESIGNER Crown Hoop with INSPIRA Tear-A-Way stabilizer. Attach the hoop to your Embroidery arm. 8. Select GO to toggle to Embroidery Stitch-out 9. Select Baste in Hoop. 10. Spray the lower back of your quilt top with 505 Temporary Adhesive spray and place the bottom of the quilt top on your stabilizer lining up your marked centre with the centre markings on the inner hoop. The excess fabric should be to the left of the hoop. 11. Touch the Start/Stop button on your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER DIAMOND Royale sewing and embroidery machine to baste your fabric to the stabilizer. Hint: If you have positioned your fabric correctly the basting stitches will be parallel to your drawn lines. 12. Use Design Positioning to make sure your design is centred.(see steps 14 and 15 on Page 3). 13. Touch the Start/Stop button and embroider your design below the crest. 14. When the embroidery is finished remove the hoop from the embroidery arm. 15. Remove the quilt top from the hoop, the basting stitches and any excess stabilizer from behind the embroidery. 16. Toggle back to Embroidery Edit Touch and hold the Delete icon to clear the

8 17. Thread your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER with Robison Anton Metallic J40 thread colour 1012 Blue on top and bobbin thread in the bobbin. 18. Measure and draw a vertical line 5" (13 cm) on both sides of the vertical center of your lower embroidery. Measure and draw a horizontal line 1" (2.5 cm) from the tip of the appliqued crest to mark the center of the lower side embroideries. 26. Touch the Start/Stop button and embroider your design below the crest. 27. When the embroidery is finished remove the hoop from the embroidery arm. 28. Remove the quilt top from the hoop, the basting stitches and any excess stabilizer from behind the embroidery. 29. When you have finished the embroidery toggle back to Embroidery Edit 30. Select Mirror End to End 19. Select File Manager. Touch and Hold Design ROY_019.vp3 to load it onto your Embroidery Edit 20. Hoop your 260 x 200 DESIGNER Crown Hoop with INSPIRA Tear-A-Way stabilizer. Attach the hoop to your Embroidery arm. 21. Select GO to toggle to Embroidery Stitch-out 31. Repeat Steps to embroider the design on the lower right portion of your quilt top. 32. When you have finished the embroidery toggle back to Embroidery Edit 33. Touch and hold the Delete icon to clear the Create MMXIII Appliqué 1. Measure down 1 ½ (3.8 cm) from the tip of the center embroidery below your appliquéd crest and draw a line parallel to the lower edge of your Quilt top. 22. Select Baste in Hoop. 23. Spray the lower back of your quilt top with 505 Temporary Adhesive spray and place the lower left portion of the quilt top on your stabilizer lining up your marked centre with the centre markings on the inner hoop. The excess fabric should be to the left of the hoop. 24. Touch the Start/Stop button on your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER DIAMOND Royale sewing and embroidery machine to baste your fabric to the stabilizer. Hint: If you have positioned your fabric correctly the basting stitches will be parallel to your drawn lines. 2. Select the Design Appliqué icon. 3. Scroll down and select the letter M 25. Use Design Positioning to make sure your design is centred (see steps 13 and 14 on Page 3).

9 4. Touch and drag onscreen or use the Scale Fine Tune arrows and set the height to 60.0 mm. 25. From the Appliqué options choose the Candlewicking Stitch large. 5. From the Appliqué options choose the Candlewicking Stitch large. 26. Touch OK to close the Design Appliqué 6. Touch OK to close the Design Appliqué 7. Select the Rotate icon. Touch the centre of the Rotate fine tune wheel three times to rotate the design 270º. 8. Move icon. 9. Move the M to co-ordinates / Select Duplicate. 11. Move the second M to co-ordinates -18.5/ Touch your screen in the work area to de-select the design. 13. Select the Design Appliqué icon. 14. Scroll down and select the letter X. 15. Touch and drag onscreen or use the Scale Fine Tune arrows and set the height to 60.0 mm. 16. From the Appliqué options choose the Candlewicking Stitch large. 17. Touch OK to close the Design Appliqué 18. Select the Rotate icon. Touch the centre of the Rotate fine tune wheel one time to rotate the design 90º. 19. Move icon. 20. Move the X to co-ordinates 37.5/ Touch your screen in the work area to de-select the design. 22. Select the Design Appliqué icon. 23. Scroll down and select the letter I. 24. Touch and drag onscreen or use the Scale Fine Tune arrows and set the height to 60.0 mm. 27. Select the Rotate icon. Touch the centre of the Rotate fine tune wheel one time to rotate the design 90º. 28. Move icon. 29. Move the I to co-ordinates 70.0/ Select Duplicate. 31. Move the second I to co-ordinates 90.0/ Select Duplicate. 33. Move the third I to co-ordinates 110.0/ Select Save to My Designs. 35. Select My Designs. 36. Select the Rename icon. 37. In the Text area type: MMXIII 38. Touch OK to close the Rename 39. Touch OK to save your design. Embroider Design Appliqué 1. Thread your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER with Robison Anton Metallic J40 colour 1003 Gold thread on top and bobbin thread in the bobbin. 2. Hoop your 260 x 200 DESIGNER Crown Hoop with INSPIRA Tear-A-Way stabilizer. Attach the hoop to your Embroidery arm. 3. Select GO to toggle to Embroidery Stitch-out 4. Select Baste in Hoop. 5. Spray the lower back of your quilt top with 505 Temporary Adhesive spray and place the bottom of the quilt top on your stabilizer lining up your marked centre with the centre markings on the inner hoop. The excess fabric should be to the left of the hoop. 6. Touch the Start/Stop button on your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER DIAMOND Royale sewing and embroidery machine to baste your fabric to the stabilizer. Hint: If you have positioned your fabric correctly the basting stitches will be parallel to your drawn lines.

10 7. Use Design Positioning to make sure your design is centred (see steps 14 and 15 on Page 3). 8. DO NOT use the Color Functions option when stitching Design appliqué designs. 9. Touch the Start/Stop button to embroider your design. The design will stitch a placement row of stitches first. A Stop command will appear on your Place a piece of Blue cotton fabric over the placement lines. Embroider the next part of the design, a double row of straight stitches to secure the fabric. Remove the hoop from the embroidery arm but DO NOT REMOVE THE FABRIC from the hoop. Trim close to the stitching. Replace the hoop onto the embroidery arm and continue to embroider the design. Repeat for each letter. 10. When the embroidery is finished remove the hoop from the embroidery arm. 11. Remove the quilt top from the hoop, the basting stitches and any excess stabilizer from behind the embroidery. 12. Toggle back to Embroidery Edit Touch and hold the Delete 13. Toggle to Sewing Mode. 14. Remove the Sensor-Q Foot. icon to clear the 15. Attach the HUSQVARNA VIKING Open Toe Foot. 16. Your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER DIAMOND Royale sewing and embroidery machine should still be threaded with Robison Anton Metallic J Gold thread on top and sewing thread to match your quilt back in the bobbin. 17. Go to Stitch Menu A1:2 Straight Stitch, Centre needle position. Quilting your Banner 1. On a flat surface pin baste the quilt top to the backing fabric or spray the back of your quilt top with 505 Temporary Adhesive spray and place the quilt backing in place. 2. Sew a straight stitch around the Appliquéd Crest right next to the satin stitch. 4. With a ruler and marking pen/chalk draw a line at a 45º angle from the lower right corner to the Appliquéd Crest. Continue to draw lines 2 3 /8 (6cm) apart at a 45º angle across the quilt top. Do not draw the lines through the Appliquéd Crest or the embroideries draw on either side of them. 5. Remove the HUSQVARNA VIKING Open Toe Foot. 6. Attach the HUSQVARNA VIKING Interchangeable Dual Feed with Changeable Open Toe foot. 7. Sew on your drawn lines, sewing from the Appliquéd Crest to the outside edges. Stop at your embroideries, engage the Fix button, and continue on the other side of the embroideries. Engage the Fix button when you get to the outside edges of your quilt top. 8. Use your favourite method to make and attach a hanging sleeve to the top wrong side of your quilt if desired.. 9. Remove the HUSQVARNA VIKING Interchangeable Dual Feed. 10. Attach the HUSQVARNA VIKING Quilters ¼ Piecing Foot. 11. Sew the 2 ½ (6.3 cm) binding strips together. Trim the seams to ¼ (6mm) and press open. 12. Fold the binding wrong sides together and press. 13. Sew the binding to the wrong side of your quilt matching the raw edges and sewing with a ¼ (6mm) seam allowance. Mitre the bindings at the corners. 14. Finish joining the end of the binding with your favourite method. 15. Press to the right side and pin in place. 16. Remove the HUSQVARNA VIKING Quilters ¼ Piecing Foot. 17. Attach the HUSQVARNA VIKING Left Edge Topstitch Foot. 18. Sew close to the folded edge of the binding with a straight stitch. Enjoy your new personalized Appliquéd Quilt created on your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER DIAMOND Royale sewing and embroidery machine. 3. Thread your HUSQVARNA VIKING DESIGNER with Robison Anton 40 wt Rayon thread to match your quilt top fabric on top and the matching thread in the bobbin.
