3 3 Friday 21 August 2015 Stage 1 Competition centre: Zespół Szkół Łączności Podwale Staromiejskie 51, Gdańsk GPS '13.9"N 18 39'25.4"E Event office: In the competition centre, opens: Start: distance from the Competition Centre 200m, follow orange stripes. Crosses a busy street, please be careful when crossing the street. Finish: Opposite the Competition Centre. Please be careful when crossing a busy street. Map: U Neptuna na dzielni scale 1:4000 e:2,5 m, August 2015, maps waterproof (in plastic bags) Courses: K10N, M10N and Rodzinna are marked in the terrain with white and red stripes. Start in Rodzinna (Family) class is possible in every minute between 00-60, entering a separate start lane (punching an SI start box before starting). Pedestrians and car traffic: Some local traffic can be expected. There are many pedestrians in the competition area. Competitors have to remember that they are responsible for their own and other pedestrians safety. Out of bound areas: It is generally strictly forbidden to enter any private areas represented by olive green colour on the maps. All impassable objects as well as temporary cafes and beer gardens (symbol 709 ISSOM 2007) must not be crossed. Terrain description: A new area to orienteering. The sprint distance will be staged in the centre of Gdańsk. Urban area with asphalt and cobbled streets, typical for the Old Town. Some backyards. A lot of fences and walls. The climb hardly exists. You should expect many tourists during the course. Control descriptions: Printed on the maps and also available in the Competition Centre. Extra control descriptions are not available at the start!

4 4 Start procedure: CC 200m -2 SI CHECK -1 MAP 50m Maps for men are on the left side of the start lane, for women are on the right. - Competitors pick up the map on the last start beep. - Competitors are responsible for picking up the correct map. Other: - There will be a kindergarten in the Competition Centre - Shoes with metal spikes or studs are not allowed! - Organizers don t provide any car park. In Dojazd/Mapy section on the event web page we published proposed car park places. Because of many tourists in Gdańsk it is recommended to come earlier to find a place to park your car.

5 5 Saturday 22 August 2015 Stage 2 Competition centre: Hotel Orle Centrum Konferencyjne Lazurowa 8, Gdańsk GPS: 54 20'45.0"N 18 52'40.6"E Event office: in the Competition Centre, opens: , Start: distance from the Competition Centre 1,3 km, follow orange stripes. Finish: in the Competition Centre Map: Wyspa Sobieszewska Zachód scale 1:10000 e:2,5m, June-July 2015, maps waterproof (in plastic bags) Terrain description: A new area to orienteering. Mainly open pine forest at the seaside, close to the beach. Runnability mostly very good with some slower and low visibility parts. In the northern part of the map areas with subtle contour detail. There are some steep slopes up to 25m high in the southern part of the map. Dense path network. Attention! Competition terrain has been used for digging amber and that is why there are a lot of pits of different size. Therefore a significant generalization of mapping the pits has been used. Courses: K10N, M10N and Rodzinna are marked in the terrain with white and red stripes. Start in Rodzinna (Family) class is possible in every minute between 00-60, entering a separate start lane (punching an SI start box before starting). Changing of the map: Competitors in K21E, M21E and M35 classes have a change of the map! At the start they get two maps in one plastic bag. After punching the last control on the map no.1 they have to follow a 100m marked route (marked with stripes) to start no.2 and then they continue their course on map no.2. Marked route to start no.2 must be followed! The two maps are marked for example: Map no.1 - M21E (1) Map no.2 - M21E (2) Control descriptions: Printed on the maps and also available at the start.

6 6 Start procedure: CC 1,3km -3 SI CHECK -2 control descriptions -1 MAP 100m - Maps for men are on the left side of the start lane, for women are on the right. - Competitors pick up the map on the last start beep. - Competitors are responsible for picking up the correct map. - Start point is marked in the terrain with a flag. Other: - There will be a buffet and a kindergarten in the Competition Centre. - Car park and bus parking are located in the camping area of camping 69 Lazurowa 5 Street. Fees: car 10 PLN/day, bus 25 PLN/day. It is possible to park for free along Lazurowa Street but there can be no parking places available.

Finish: in the Competition Centre Map: Wyspa Sobieszewska Wschód scale 1:10000 e:2,5m, June-July 2015, maps waterproof (in plastic bags) Terrain description: A new area to orienteering. Terrain similar to stage 1 terrain. Mainly open pine forest at the seaside, close to the beach. Runnability mostly very good. In the northern part of the map areas with subtle contour detail. There are some steep slopes in the southern part of the map. Dense path network. Attention! After that time, normal start with 1 minute interval begins. Prize giving and closing ceremony: in the Competition Centre at Prizes: In classes K/M 14 and younger diplomas and prizes for places 1-6 In classes K/M 16 and older diplomas and prizes for places 1-3 In K21E and M21E classes money prizes for 1-3 places. Other: - There will be a Buffet and a kindergarten in the Competition Centre - Car park and bus parking are located in the camping area of camping 69 Lazurowa 5 Street. Fees: car 10 PLN/day, bus 25 PLN/day. It is possible to park for free along Lazurowa Street but there can be no parking places available.
