6 History th July 30th September 2010 ACC - and FMP Wien, beside a number of other ANSPs, participated in the Severe En-Route Weather Network Trial Since 2010 FMP Wien closely monitors the NM initiatives in regard to the severe weather topics (information provided to ODSG, workshops, trials) In May 2012 an observation visit of NM operational staff in ACC - and FMP Wien took place 19th and 20th November 2013 Austro Control FMP and MET participated at the Eurocontrol Severe Weather Workshop in Brussels May 2014 NRT (Network Resilience Tool) has been presented to Austro Control ATM and MET August 2015 ACC and FMP participating in the NRT Summer Trial 6

18 Process for ATFCM during adverse weather situations in ACC Wien Supervisor ACC participates every day at regular telephone MET briefings These briefings are conducted 3 times a day; early morning morning afternoon If necessary, Supervisor ACC may additionally request updated weather information whenever needed. Additionally Supervisor ACC shall refer to the SigWX Bulletin SigWX Bulletin is a tool, developed by Austro Control MET to support ATM in the forecast and impact assessment of severe weather It assists to translates MET forcast / information into ATM understandable and interpretable planning information about CB/TS/TCU/SQL for ATFCM. see next slide 18

22 Process for ATFCM during adverse weather situations in ACC Wien In certain weather situations it is necessary to decrease the capacity values. One parameter for the Impact assessment of the weather situation on the different ACC sectors is the information/forcast received from MET. Supervisor ACC is responsible to decide in which sector(s) the capacity shall be decreased, for how long and with which value. 22
