1 Cummins Advisor Quick Start Guide
2 Cummins Advisor Overview Cummins Advisor contains a large quantity of product information, from basic component descriptions to complex analysis features examining details of interrelated engine installation systems. Advisor is also a dynamic source of information about Cummins products, options, engineering documents, engine specifications, and much more. The Design Review function of Cummins Advisor allows users to define specific engine and equipment performance requirements for their products. Using this information, Advisor identifies the Cummins products that have performance and installation characteristics that best fit the criteria defined. Advisor's analytical engineering tools provide guidance and advice during the design stages of the engine installation package. Please explore this knowledge-based program and see how it will bring information and productivity to your work. Advisor requires a minimum of a Pentium Centrino Duo, 1.66 GHz, 1 GB RAM with at least 200 MB of free hard drive space and a 10X speed CD ROM (CGD Laptop). We require the screen resolution be set to a minimum 800 x 600, 256 color. A screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768 is preferred. Advisor runs on Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7. PowerSweep PC users will need approximately 300 MB of free space on your C:\ drive for Advisor to install successfully using the SCCM (Marimba) automatic download process. 4 Installing Advisor Note to Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 Users! For non-powersweep users in a secure Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 environment, Advisor must be installed and set up by a systems administrator, or by a user who has administrative authority on the target computer in Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 environments. The user also must have read-write access to the hard drive on which Advisor is installed. In some extremely secure environments, especially those in which the user does not have read-write access to the Windows Registry or to certain drives, Advisor may not function properly unless the systems administrator modifies the user's permissions levels and access rights. If you are a Cummins or Distributor employee with a PowerSweep PC, Advisor should be requested from the software shelf after you receive your serial number and password.
