His experience has been gained primarily in the oil & gas industry with operating companies, contractors and consultants. Lorne has also worked in the development and engineering of offshore renewables and power interconnector projects, as well as providing technical input for insurance claims relating to terminals and offshore infrastructure. Role started as Technical Authority during block 18 project phase covering operational readiness, compilation of integrity management systems and a smooth transition of SURF infrastructure through commissioning and into operations. Role then progressed through early life operation and troubleshooting, into integrity management and on to remediation, de-bottlenecking and refurbishment. Due to its success the role was repeated four years later for the second BP Angola deepwater development. Remediation and refurbishment projects included riser buckling, riser hang off failure, pipeline and riser hydrate remediation, riser internal cladding failure, pipeline dynamic oscillations, pipeline walking and lateral buckles initiation, umbilical overbending and sheath failures, multiple subsea sensor replacement, riser tower and general corrosion, sand in flowlines, structure scour, riser alarm system replacement, cleaning and ILI pigging.

3 Integrity regimes were primarily risk based, although some activities were on a scheduled basis. Integrity included full intelligent pigging with sweep, clean, gauge and ILI. Management included a variety of other activities such as tender packages, tender review, selection and management of support service contracts, selection and management of technical personnel, assessment and implementation of new technology, compilation of specifications and procedures, risk and consequence analyses, legal and corporate compliances, fabrication site and acting as offshore representative for remediation activities. The subsea systems contain 500km of production, gas, water and service pipelines of which 60km was pipe-in-pipe, 50 flexible jumpers, 10 buoyant riser towers with 18 dynamic flexible risers, more than 50 seabed manifolds and other structures, and 150km of control umbilicals Project Development International, PDI Ltd Project Manager & Project Engineer Offshore Renewable Energy Alliance - UK Round 2 Offshore Windfarms Engineering and tender manager for two UK Round 2 offshore windfarms. Identification of suitable offshore sites, design of deeper water substructures, field layout, selection and management of specialist subcontracts, recruitment of tender personnel, agreements with alliance partners and management of tender process. On completion of tenders the company was absorbed into a larger engineering contractor. Also Pre-FEED engineering for a Caribbean offshore windfarm and the early stage development and commercialisation of free-stream tidal generation. BG Trinidad NCMA3b construction phase

Activities included management of procedures and permits, client representative for pre-route survey, pipelay, testing, tie-in and commissioning. Newfield Petroleum Grove & Grove West - UK North Sea Project manager for in-field gas pipelines and control umbilical. Pipelay by s- lay, trenched and backfilled in 40m water depth. Activities included tendering and selection of pipelay, umbilical installation and trenching contractors, management, scopes of work, review and modification of procedures, PWA application and approval, client representative for pre-route survey, pipelay, testing, tie-in and commissioning. Nexen Petroleum - Buzzard Field UK North Sea Senior project engineer and offshore construction manager for 75km of pipeline systems for oil & gas export and water injection s-laid, trenched and rock-dumped in 150m water depth. Tie-in by subsea hot-tap to BP Forties for oil export and manifold connection to Total Frigg for gas export. Activities included management of two EPC contractors, interface management with BP, offshore surveys, scopes of work, development and approval of all methods and procedures, client representative for debris and ordinance removal, pipelay, trenching, rockdumping, hot-tapping, tie-ins and precommissioning. Total Petroleum Alwyn Liquids Export UK North Sea Starting as a consultant analysing the effects of trawl board impacts on an untrenched pipeline option, the role evolved into general project engineering for Total, providing offshore engineering of pipeline route selection during initial route survey, review and approval of contractor procedures and then client representative for pipelay. 52km main oil line in 150m water depth reeled and trenched from Alwyn North to Cormorant Alpha.

5 BG Exploration & Production Project Engineer Easington Catchment Area UK North Sea Project engineer and senior offshore client representative for the Mercury subsea gas tie-back development in 40m water depth. Activities included management of main EPC contract for pipeline and umbilical, PWA compilation, offshore installation, tie-in and commissioning London Marine Group Project Manager & Project Engineer Ports, Terminals & Pipelines Damage assessments of structures impacted by vessels identifying sequence of events, loading mechanisms, damage attributable to incidents and requirements to re-instate to pre-incident condition. Similar investigations for pipeline and subsea structural failures due to unforeseen events or conditions. BP - Foinaven UK West of Shetlands Technical management of various aspects involving investigation, repair and modification of super duplex subsea manifolds following seabed failures. Investigation focussed on stress regimes, materials and cathodic protection. Recommendations for remediation to manifolds to prevent re-occurrence, supervision of onshore testing. Cakerawala & Bongkot Gulf of Thailand Project manager for design, engineering, procurement and constructionsupport activities of a turret, mooring and riser system on a new build 85,000dwt FSO (Cakerawala). Activities included design and engineering as well as contract management and administration. Project manager for various design, engineering and procurement activities for an ultra-fast track project to replace an existing FSO with a 60,000dwt temporary solution (Bongkot).

Activities included compilation of procedures and permits, management of design consultants, review of all documentation, onshore fabrication and testing and offshore field engineering. Viking Area UK North Sea Field development studies for subsea/minimal platform satellite fields Allseas Engineering BV Subsea, Pipeline & Structural Engineer Draugen Norwegian North Sea Design of the method, structures, rigging, vessel modifications and procedures for the installation of two 28 tonne Pipeline End Manifolds on 16 pipelines in 260m water depth. Field engineer for all fabrication, onshore and offshore testing, installation and offshore activities. System represented an early use of the J-lay installation method for a major pipeline. Sleipner Norwegian North Sea Design, fabrication, procedures, fabrication management, testing and installation of high energy absorption steel/concrete spool protection covers for two 50m long expansion spools and umbilicals. The construction method was subsequently developed and marketed by Corus as Bi-Steel. Santa Ynez - California

7 Design of method, structures and rigging for hard pipe pipeline deflect-toconnect, J-tube pulling and flexible pipeline installation in 400m water depth. Design included large work decks fitted to steel jacket legs, seafastenings and lift rigging as well as J-tubes, hang-off clamps, pull heads, and installation of 200 tonnes of flexible pipeline reel and tensioner on a company vessel. One work deck was re-fitted to the vessel as a permanent item. L7B & L7BB Dutch North Sea Survey, design and engineering of repairs for primary and secondary jacket structures and topside steelwork for two platforms hit by a rogue wave in excess of the 100 year wave height KBR / CJB Joint Venture Structural Engineer Miller UK North Sea Engineering of primary steel work for platform jacket, module substructure and foundations including primary tubulars, tubular joint design, fatigue analysis and foundation piles.
