Romans 4:5 But to one who, not working [by the Law], trusts (believes fully) in Him Who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited to him as righteousness (the standing acceptable to God). 6 Thus David congratulates the man and pronounces a blessing on him to whom God credits righteousness apart from the works he does: 7 Blessed and happy and to be envied are those whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered up and completely buried. 8 Blessed and happy and to be envied is the person of whose sin the Lord will take no account nor reckon it against him. 9 Is this blessing (happiness) then meant only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? We say that faith was credited to Abraham as righteousness. 10 How then was it credited [to him]? Was it before or after he had been circumcised? It was not after, but before he was circumcised. 11 He received the mark of circumcision as a token or an evidence [and] seal of the righteousness which he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised [faith] so that he was to be made the father of all who [truly] believe, though without circumcision, and who thus have righteousness (right standing with God) imputed to them and credited to their account, 12 As well as [that he be made] the father of those circumcised persons who are not merely circumcised, but also walk in the way of that faith which our father Abraham had before he was circumcised. 13 For the promise to Abraham or his posterity, that he should inherit the world, did not come through [observing the commands of] the Law but through the righteousness of faith. 14 If it is the adherents of the Law who are to be the heirs, then faith is made futile and empty of all meaning and the promise [of God] is made void (is annulled and has no power). 15 For the Law results in [divine] wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression [of it either]. 2

3 16 Therefore, [inheriting] the promise is the outcome of faith and depends [entirely] on faith, in order that it might be given as an act of grace (unmerited favor), to make it stable and valid and guaranteed to all his descendants not only to the devotees and adherents of the Law, but also to those who share the faith of Abraham, who is [thus] the father of us all. 17 As it is written, I have made you the father of many nations. [He was appointed our father] in the sight of God in Whom he believed, Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed. 18 [For Abraham, human reason for] hope being gone, hoped in faith that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been promised, So [numberless] shall your descendants be. 19 He did not weaken in faith when he considered the [utter] impotence of his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or [when he considered] the barrenness of Sarah s [deadened] womb. 20 No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God, 21 Fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His word and to do what He had promised. 22 That is why his faith was credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God). A. Vs 13: Faith is how you attain to righteousness. 1. Physical evidence (fleecing) is not how we get direction from God. 2. New Testament believers hear from God. 3. You think the way God thinks by faith. B. Vs 15: The only reason the law was given was to identify sin. C. Vs 16: Everywhere we set our foot should become the Promised Land! 1. Grace means that God s part is finished. 2. People without a revelation of grace are still asking God to do something. 3. A contract (covenant) means each party has a part. 4. Many Christians pray redundantly for what God has already granted. 3

4 5. Grace is God saying, I ve given you everything you need. 6. Grace is a finished work. 7. Jesus and the Father have clocked out and taken a seat on the throne! 8. Inheriting the promises has nothing to do with prayer. 9. The promise depends entirely on faith years after Jesus ascended, the known world became Christian years after Jesus went to heaven, less than 5 percent are Christians. 12. This is the result of not dominating like we are supposed to. 13. God s part of the blessing equation is already established. 14. We have to be in constant communication with the Holy Spirit. 15. Our part is to inherit the world. 16. A truckload of faith will bring in a truckload of blessings. 17. We have to chase faith, not the blessing. 18. This means you need to feed your ear more than your mouth. 19. Anita Siddiki was healed from MS because she grew her faith. 20. The greater your faith, the greater your blessing. 21. God s part to make you a millionaire is already done! 22. Your part is to appropriate what He s done by faith! 23. Think, talk, and SOW like a millionaire. 24. Do not pray for God to bless you just obey Him! 25. Blessings come to those who hearken to the voice of the Lord. 26. You are not the healer, but you are the administrator of His anointing. D. Vs 16: Righteousness must be a thought pattern that says it s already done. 1. God s thinking will not contradict His grace. 2. In God s mind, you are already blessed! 4

5 3. Therefore, have the mind of Christ that the blessing is already yours. 4. Until you think like He thinks, you are not flowing in righteousness. 5. We must adapt our thoughts and ways to line up with God s. 6. Abandon religious thinking and rise up to His higher way of thinking! 7. Our belief system must correspond with our God-like thoughts. 8. Faith is pistis = past tense. It is not believing. 9. Once you have believed, you will inherit the promises. 10. When you have true Bible faith, you roll the care over to the Lord. E. Vs 17: Faith is a finished work, so start calling things as such! F. Vs 19: Abraham didn t consider circumstances which contradicted God s word. G. Vs 20: Christians want to give praise after the manifestation comes, but Abraham, our father of faith, gave praise before he saw the results. 1. Praise is the voice of faith! 2. Faith is a smile! 3. The world celebrates the touchdown after it happens, but we do it before! 4. Because we celebrate in advance, the touchdown comes to pass! H. Vs 22: Abraham s faith was credited for righteousness. 1. When you start talking like it WERE, it WILL BE. 2. What comes out of your mouth either matches your faith or cancels it. 3. Faith is seeing what God sees. 4. Faith is the mind of Christ. 5. Never speak of things as they are, but only as they will be. 6. The devil hates to be ignored; he wants you to worry about things! 7. Resist the devil by ignoring him. 8. What you speak will either build the shield of faith or destroy it. 5

6 9. Out of your mouth, you create your future. (See Paul s account in Romans 15:29). 10. We arrange our atmosphere by what we say. 11. Neurologists have already proven that the speech center in the brain drives and controls all the systems in your body. 12. Hold fast the confession of your faith without wavering. VI. James 2:17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead). 18 But someone will say [to you then], You [say you] have faith, and I have [good] works. Now you show me your [alleged] faith apart from any [good] works [if you can], and I by [good] works [of obedience] will show you my faith. 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. So do the demons believe and shudder [in terror and horror such as make a man s hair stand on end and contract the surface of his skin]! 20 Are you willing to be shown [proof], you foolish (unproductive, spiritually deficient) fellow, that faith apart from [good] works is inactive and ineffective and worthless? 21 Was not our forefather Abraham [shown to be] justified (made acceptable to God) by [his] works when he brought to the altar as an offering his [own] son Isaac? A. Your seed is the works to your faith. B. In your most precious seed is hidden your harvest. C. It can t just be any seed; it has to be THE seed that God directs. D. Your blessing won t come until you sow your Isaac seed. 6
