Recognition schemes are all about celebrating achievement and creating enthusiasm for progress. They are a great way to motivate and encourage systematic improvement. They provide a focus for learning and training. They provide achievable milestones during a long term programme and demonstrate achievement to your people, suppliers and customers. Motivate your people Find out how good you are Create a culture of sustainable excellence Engage with customers, partners and staff Benefit from international recognition Improve your competitiveness EFQM recognition schemes motivate your people to drive the organisation towards continuous improvement and a culture of excellence, whilst creating international acknowledgment for your professionalism and your relentless focus on progress. We have been using the EFQM Model now for over 5 years. It is clearly a mighty tool which assists us in leading our global company. From the annual assessments we win an objective view of the organisation. This helps us to set the right priorities for our business and facilitates our improvement activities because we know they are the right ones. The leadership of our 14 locations, due to its proven success, is dedicates to the EFQM Model. The Model nowadays is indispensable for us. Werner Struth, President Chassis Systems Control, Robert Bosch GmbH 3

The objective of the EFQM Excellence Award is to recognise Europe s best performing organisations, whether private, public or non-profit. It recognises industry leaders with an indisputable track record of success in turning strategy into action and continuously improving their organisation s performance. Recognised for Excellence combines an externally validated analysis of your organisation s performance recognising your achievements. It provides you with a framework to increase your competitiveness, productivity and efficiency. You will understand how well your current management practices are delivering the results and you will discover learning and improvement opportunities. Committed to Excellence Project Validation and Assessment are developed to introduce you and your organisation to business excellence. Going through one of the two options your organisation will receive a valuable feedback and recommendations to the next steps for your journey towards excellence. 4

Even the longest journey starts with a single step. The EFQM Committed to Excellence is designed to help ensure that first step is a step in the right direction. Many people think that implementing the EFQM Excellence Model is a long, complex and expensive process. However, that isn t necessarily true. Implementing the Model can be as simple or as complex as you choose to make it. EFQM's Committed to Excellence is an assessment and recognition scheme that helps you introduce an excellence initiative into your organisation and deliver improved results. It is an action-based learning project that entails identifying, prioritising and implementing improvement projects using the EFQM Excellence Model and RADAR logic. The Project Validation option consists of two stages. In the first, you conduct a simple Self-Assessment against the EFQM Excellence Model, from which you will define 3 improvement plans. In the second stage, an independent EFQM Validator reviews the outcomes delivered from the improvement projects and provides structured feedback. The process has 5 steps and lasts 9 to 12 months: At the end of the validation, you will receive a feedback report detailing the strengths and opportunities for improvement observed. If you can demonstrate you managed the improvement projects in a structured fashion and you have made clear progress, you will receive the EFQM Committed to Excellence 1 Star recognition. 5

If you opt for the assessment method, you will need to prepare a short submission document. 2 EFQM Assessors will then spend 1 day on-site to complete 6 themed interviews. They will assess you, and produce a feedback report, against the 9 criteria of the EFQM Excellence Model. Depending on the score you achieve, you will receive EFQM Committed to Excellence 1 Star or 2 Star recognition. Focus on strategically important projects Improve your organisation's performance Instil a culture of continuous improvement Involve your people at all levels Receive value adding external feedback Be internationally recognised The Committed to Excellence Programme is a simple & easy step for organisations or units who are just beginning to explore ways to improve their business approach. A typical profile of an applicant organisation looks as follows: They have experience of introducing improvement initiatives but change is managed ad-hoc, now interested in taking an organisation-wide perspective. They measure their performance using mainly internal measures with little use of external comparisons as the basis for target setting. Any organisation or business unit can apply at any time, regardless of their location, size or sector. EFQM can help you to start with the Start Simple One-Day Workshop. Option 1 - Project Validation - EFQM Member : between 3,500 Euro - 4,500 Euro (excluding VAT) - Non Member : between 4,375 Euro - 5,625 Euro (excluding VAT) Option 2 - Assessment - EFQM Member : between 5,000 Euro - 7,000 Euro (excluding VAT) - Non Member: between 6,250 Euro - 8,750 Euro (excluding VAT) 6

Recognised for Excellence is based on an external assessment of your organisation s overall performance and achievements. By applying the EFQM Excellence Model, you will understand how effective your current management practices are delivering the strategic objectives you have defined. Recognised for Excellence will help you to discover learning & improvement opportunities. If you apply for Recognised for Excellence, you need to create and submit a Management Document that consists of the Key Information and Key Results of the organization and the enabler map. 3 7 EFQM Assessors will then spend 3 5 days on-site to complete interviews. They will assess you, and produce a feedback report, against the 9 criteria of the EFQM Excellence Model. Create enthusiasm and encouragement for improvement Develop organisational culture of excellence Simple process that delivers independent value-adding feedback Improved performance Create sustainable excellence for your stakeholders International recognition that will enhance the value and image of your organisation Any organisation or business unit can apply at any time, regardless of their location, size or sector. The Recognised for Excellence is designed for those organisations or business units that are well on their way to organisational excellence. 7

VAT) Non-members between and (excl. VAT) 8

The objective of the EFQM Excellence Award is to recognise Europe s best performing organisations, whether private, public or non-profit. It recognises industry leaders with an indisputable track record of success in turning strategy into action and continuously improving their organisation s performance. Some applicants have described the EFQM Excellence Award as like playing in the Champions League, because it is supported by one of the most rigorous assessment processes. To identify the nominees, a team of 5 9 international experienced managers spend one week on applicants site, or an average of 500 hours per applicant; reviewing documents, interviewing and analysing the organisation against the EFQM Excellence Model. The feedback from the assessor teams are then presented to an independent jury that decides the level of recognition for each Nominee. Enhance your brand image and reputation Find out how good you are and discover your true potential Motivate and energise your people Receive independent, stakeholder focussed value-adding feedback Announce your success and join the Winners club 9

The Award is open to any organisation but applicants need to have received 5 Star Recognised for Excellence or equivalent through National Awards before they can enter the Award process. The Award is open to every high performing organisation in Europe including: EU Countries Organisations in countries having an EFQM partner or representation and national Award process Pre-requisites that need to be fulfilled include: - Applicants need to achieve 5 star Recognised for Excellence directly through EFQM - 80/20 rule EFQM accepts maximum of 20 % of the total number of applicant per Award cycle from outside Europe Signed application form available at EFQM Management document with - Key information & key results - Enabler map Focuses on the organisation, its strategy and challenges Helps the organisation to focus on what is important for its future Stimulates the identification of practical next steps and how to improve RADAR scoring The fee depends on the size, scope and complexity of your organization. It also varies for EFQM Members and non-members. Please contact us for more information about the application fee. 10

The EFQM Excellence Award process is essential to our continued journey towards excellence. The outputs we received from the 2010 process were of the highest quality and deeply incisive. We have taken those outputs and plugged them straight into our continuous improvement programme. In addition the caliber of individuals involved in the assessment was outstanding, a stellar cast of Europe's finest practitioners of excellence. In summary for us the process was an outstanding experience Finbarr Dowling Managing Director of Siemens 11
