2 How does it work and why should I as a partner use it? Web content syndication is a service for Microsoft partners that dynamically delivers customer-facing product banners and microsites to partner websites. The web content syndication service is a part of the Microsoft Partner Network and available in the Partner Marketing Center (PMC). It offers you, as a partner, the ability to embed product banners on your own company webpage to drive more leads, so that when a customer clicks on the banner, a microsite with product information and your contact information is displayed. The content is automatically updated by Microsoft and follows Microsoft s branding guidelines. Please take a few minutes and go to PMC and get started with the service so you can begin generating even more leads. You will find detailed instructions on the next pages. 3 Step-by-step guide 1. Click on the icon Banners & microsites from the Syndication landing page: 2. Scroll through the content available and select Preview from any individual item in the list you wish to syndicate. For example: 3. From the microsite preview page click Customize to select your banner size. NOTE: Clicking Add will start the process of creating a Channel (an option that will allow you to rotate multiple banners in the future) and will be discussed later in this document. To learn what the Add button does click here. 4. Use your Microsoft account details to continue by clicking Proceed to sign in. Partner Marketing Center web syndication 3

4 5. View the banners and select the appropriate size for your web site. 6. Fill in your company information to start the process of adding your company information to the microsite. 7. At the bottom of the page you ll see fields specifying the Trial and Buy URL s. The try and buy links will send you to provision the trial from the online services portal with you as the Partner of Record. For directions on how to access the links, click learn more. If you would rather have customers contact you directly for a trial or purchase, DO NOT fill in the TRY and BUY URL fields. Leaving these fields empty will mean only your company information will show up on the microsite and not the links to trial or buy. Partner Marketing Center web syndication 4

5 8. T o download the customized code to put on your website click Generate code. 9. From here you can send or copy the code to embed into your website. Follow the instructions on the page to publish to your website. If you have previously participated in the SCALE syndication services from Microsoft or have already added a syndication code to your web page, be sure to remove the old code from your website before adding the new code. 10. 6 Download syndication code for rotating banners or microsites You can display multiple banners and/or microsites in the same area on your website by rotating through what you have selected to syndicate. You can select up to four items and adapt the speed of rotation: 1. Click on the icon Banner rotations from the Syndication landing page. 2. Scroll through the content available and select Add from any individual item in the list you wish to syndicate. Example: This will add the item above to your channel. You can do this step as many times as you like by adding or removing content in your channel. Only four items can be selected in total. 3. Once you are satisfied with the four pieces of content to display click Preview. 4. When you are satisfied and ready to download the code to syndicate on your website, click the Customize button on the Preview page. Partner Marketing Center web syndication 6

7 5. On the customize page select a banner size, set your transition speed and enter your company information. 6. To download the customized code to put on your website click: From here you can send or copy the code to embed into your website. Follow the instructions on the page to publish to your website. 8 Download Marketing assets on Partner Marketing Center 1. Click on Campaigns. 2. Click on Find a campaign. 3. Click on More info for more details and Download to start downloading the assets.
